A Pokemon fan has given some thought to what kind of team Steve Irwin would have, and shared it with the community. The Pokemon concept takes its inspiration from the late Steve Irwin's career and characteristics.

The late Steve Irwin was perhaps better known by the public at large as The Crocodile Hunter, though the title is a bit misleading, as Irwin wasn't a hunter in the traditional sense. On the contrary, Irwin was well-known for being a conservationist and zookeeper that led a number of TV shows and subsequent fame. Sadly, the star passed away in 2006 after being stung by a stingray, but his influence hasn't faded away over the years.

Now, a Reddit user named Rhinoz_Art_Studio has shared their idea for what a Pokemon team for Steve Irwin would look like. In an image of Steve Irwin with Pokemon flanking him on either side, his team consists of Ekans, Feraligatr, Heliolisk, Krookodile, Kangaskhan, and Silicobra. The fan also suggested that some alternates could include Skeledirge, Galvantula, and Gliscor. It's clear that the influence for the members of the team is Steve Irwin's work, but especially the moments where he would casually show off dangerous creatures like crocodiles and venomous snakes. If he were to be in the Pokemon world, it makes a lot of sense that he would have captured - or at least befriended - creatures like these.

Pokemon Fans Come Up With More Steve Irwin Ideas

Users in the comments have shared additional concepts for what Steve Irwin would be like in the Pokemon world. While many seemed to approve of the Pokemon team, one top commenter points out that Irwin wouldn't have a simple static team of six Pokemon, because he would want to switch out other Pokemon rather than keeping them in storage. Several suggested that he might not be a traditional Pokemon trainer, and would instead be a Pokemon Professor, a daycare caretaker, or a Pokemon Ranger.

This isn't the first time that fans have considered what Steve Irwin would be like if he existed in the Pokemon world. One fan imagined him with a similar lineup, with Pokemon like Krookodile, Ekans, Torkoal, Joltik, and Charmander. Another thought about the idea of Steve Irwin as a Pokemon Champion, imagining a game set in a fictional version of Australia. In that rendition, the artist only gave Irwin two Pokemon, this time having Totodile and Krokorok on his team. While Steve Irwin passed away nearly two decades ago, it's clear that his influence is still felt, and that fans haven't forgotten about him in the slightest.
