At the time of its release, there was a lot of hype surrounding Pokemon Sleep, but it slowly died down due to the presence of various bugs and other in-game issues. Many players still found the game useful, as it enabled them to have a healthy sleep schedule. However, Pokemon Sleep did not seem sustainable in the long run.

Thankfully, the developers have been releasing small updates to quash the bugs and enhance the players' experience. Recently, the official account of Pokemon Sleep confirmed the release of version 1.0.6. This announcement is massive and will bring plenty of improvements and changes to the game.

Version 1.0.6 Update

pokemon sleep version 1.0.6 new features

Pokemon Sleep will undergo maintenance on August 25, 2023, from 01:00 a.m. - 05:30 a.m. UTC. There was a disclaimer that stated the maintenance could last longer. The statement revealed that there will be two major improvements to sleep tracking during future maintenance. These are:

  • If players begin tracking their sleep before maintenance begins, they will be able to conduct their sleep research as usual.
  • If they begin their sleep tracking during maintenance and only record one session of data, they will be able to conduct their sleep research as usual.

The announcement confirmed that if players record two or more sessions, they will be turned into a speed review. The account disclosed that the Good Sleep Day event, the first major event in Pokemon Sleep, will begin on August 30. The game will also adjust the graphics quality settings. This particular change will improve the performance of the game and reduce battery consumption. There will be some balance adjustments as well, which include:

  • Candy requirements have been lowered by about 20%.
  • The number of Pokémon players must befriend to earn a reward has been reduced by about 15%.
  • The number of Dream Shards, Handy Candy S, and diamonds given as rewards have been increased.

Players who were unable to gather enough candies will be happy with the changes. The increase in rewards is great, although it would be better if the developers gave away more biscuits, as they are extremely hard to come by.

There are many more fixes and improvements, which players can find in the news section on the Main Menu. It is quite evident that the developers see the potential in Pokemon Sleep, and they want it to succeed. But to do so, they need to listen to what players want and keep releasing updates constantly.

Pokemon Sleep is available on Android and iOS.
