One Pokemon Scarlet and Violet player captures a hilarious moment in the new games where an odd glitch during an eating animation makes it seem as though the player's character is unusually depressed while they order and munch on a chocolate churro. Although this very same Pokemon Scarlet and Violet glitch has been shared around social media a few times in the past, this particular instance makes for a funny clip thanks to the unimpressed expression that gets stuck on the player character's face.

It's safe to say that the Generation 9 Pokemon games have been subject to a fair amount of controversy since their launch in November thanks to their poor technical state at release. While player opinions on Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are mixed, it's been the underwhelming graphical quality and constant stream of weird bugs in particular which have tarnished the games' reputation in the eyes of fans and critics alike. While Scarlet and Violet have plummeted to the status of being the lowest-rated Pokemon games on Metacritic out of the main series titles as a result, that hasn't stopped the majority of players having a laugh at some of the many ridiculous technical flaws seen throughout the games - whether they involve NPC characters falling off cliffs, Trainers mutating into horrific skeletal monstrosities, or player's faces freezing as funny expressions while they chow down on a churro.

A clip shared by the user sharp_teeth92 on Reddit shows the churro-related incident in action. The video begins with the player ordering a chocolate churro from one of the many snack shops found across the Paldea region, with such treats offering a range of useful "powers" to Pokemon Trainers such as the ability to gain extra rewards from challenges such as raids, boost the odds of encountering certain types of Pokemon, and even increase the amount of TM materials collected. As any fans of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's new picnic mechanic will know, eating snacks such as sandwiches or churros in the game will trigger a short cutscene where the player character shares the food with their Pokemon. However, as is seen in this clip, the character's face sometimes freezes during this cutscene, making them appear somewhat depressed in this instance.

This same glitch has been encountered by other players too, with many other fans sharing similar clips of their characters becoming "paralyzed" due to the flavor of the sandwiches that they make. As with what seems to be the majority of bugs found in Scarlet and Violet, this glitch simply makes for a laughable moment rather than an actual gameplay hindrance.

Still, most players are about getting used to the bugs prevalent in Scarlet and Violet at this point. Even despite the games' issues, many players continue to enjoy the titles thanks to the many new gameplay features, with many fans excited about the rumored DLC in the future.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are available on Nintendo Switch.
