A Pokemon Scarlet and Violet player did the unthinkable when they hatched a single-mouse Tandemaus, a Pokemon traditionally discovered as a pair. Tandemaus is a Pokemon introduced in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet that later evolves into Maushold, a family of three or more little mice creatures.
Maushold is on the rise in competitive battles, thanks in large part to its move Population Bomb, which allows players to utilize an attack that can hit a target for up to ten times. Maushold is one of the newest additions of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's group-type Pokemon, which includes the likes of familiar faces such as Magneton and Falinks.
Reddit user memesaurus shared an experience to the social platform, hatching the Tandemaus Pokemon unlike any other seen before. Tandemaus is a Pokemon that comes in a pair of twos, but this one was missing its partner and the glitch is just one of many in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, following its release in November 2022. Reddit commenters who joined in the fun added their own nicknames to the single-mouse creature, giving their take on what this poor little mouse could be called after it was left to its own accord.
With Koraidon observing the Pokemon's birth, Reddit users chimed in on what the player could nickname this rare abomination to their team. "Allbymauself," offered user Apocalypse195, who played on the idea of this mouse being all alone while citing the popular hit single "All By Myself" by Eric Carmen. Some observers became concerned on the situation of Tandemous' capability of evolving, given its lack of a partner to pro-create and give life to children. "He's just not of legal age for marriage yet its ok," suggested one user, pointing out the Pokemon's level being too low to consider a family.
It's uncertain whether the glitch rectified itself by including this poor Tandemaus' partner, but players shouldn't be concerned about this problem happening during their playthrough. One can expect that the odds of this happening is greater than winning the lottery, and the Tandemaus they hatch can be evolved into Maushold without any problem. As one Reddit user points out, "Koraidon looking at it like 'so how much trouble would I be in if I ate this damn thing…'” hinting that the legendary beast introduced in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet may be moving on from its usual diet of herba mystica sandwiches.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are available now on Nintendo Switch.
