Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trainers have successfully unlocked another Shiny Treasures of Ruin distribution. In the coming days, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players can connect to the Internet to claim Shiny Chien-Pao for their collections, along with some bonus Tera Shards.
Known as the Ruinous Pokemon, Chien-Pao is one of the four Treasures of Ruin from the Paldea region, a Legendary quartet that was sealed away in shrines. Chien-Pao is usually an Ice and Dark dual-type, with high attack and speed stats that allow it to cut through opponents with swift precision. From August 3 to 17, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players can test themselves against a Shiny variant of Chien-Pao in Five-Star Tera Raid dens throughout Paldea. Shiny Chien-Pao has the Ice-type as its Tera type, and cannot normally be caught after defeating it in a Tera Raid.
Pokemon Legends: Z-A Demo Reveals New Details
Pokemon Legends: Z-A’s latest gameplay demo gives fans a fresh glimpse at how the experience in Lumiose City will unfold on October 16.
As Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players utilized strong Fighting types like Iron Hands and Annihilape to defeat Shiny Chien-Pao, a collective goal was reached with days to spare. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players collectively defeated Shiny Chien-Pao over 2.9 million times as of August 11, nearly six days before Shiny Chien-Pao's raid window ends. Ergo, for defeating Shiny Chien-Pao a collective one million times, a Mystery Gift distribution event to claim Shiny Chien-Pao will begin on Thursday, August 21, at 8:00 PM Eastern. Additionally, 400 Tera Shards will be rewarded as a bonus gift for defeating Shiny Chien-Pao an additional 400,000 times beyond the first million. Once the Mystery Gift window for Shiny Chien-Pao is open, Pokemon trainers have until September 30 to claim the second Shiny Treasure of Ruin via the Internet.

A Nintendo Switch Online membership is not necessary to download any Mystery Gift offers in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Along with Shiny Chien-Pao, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trainers can also download Shiny Wo-Chien, the first Shiny Treasure of Ruin, even if they did not participate in either of the Tera Raid battle windows. Compared to the current Shiny Chien-Pao raid window, Shiny Wo-Chien was defeated over 3.5 million times days before its spotlight ended.
More members of the Shiny Treasures of Ruin will be available to battle in Tera Raid dens soon, with Shiny Ting-Lu arriving on August 17 at 8:00 PM Eastern. Between that and an ongoing Farigiraf Mystery Gift distribution event, now is an excellent time for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players to add more pages to their Pokedexes.
