One Pokemon Scarlet and Violet player stumbled upon a meteor shower during their exploration sessions. While many fans criticize Pokemon Scarlet and Violet for the countless performance and technical issues like random bugs, some admire them for their story and gameplay. The latest Pokemon games feature the new region of Paldea, based on the Iberian Peninsula, that provides exciting challenges to players.
Paldea is an enormous landmass with a diverse geography of lakes, mountains, rivers, and forests. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet gamers are free to explore the various landscapes that Paldea offers, encountering hundreds of unique Pokemon. In one such instance, one lucky player found a biblically accurate Magneton while roaming in the vast wilderness of Paldea. At the same time, a handful of gamers encounter phenomena that are incredibly rare in real-life, let alone in video games.
Reddit user FastPosition2291 came across one such rare event in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet in the form of a meteor shower. They uploaded a video that shows the cosmic phenomenon. The user can be seen riding a Miraidon initially before they dismount on a nearby cliff and rotate the camera. Astoundingly, a bright meteor flashes across the sky, followed by several others, causing a breathtaking display of shooting stars. The meteor shower lasts roughly ten seconds before everything returns to normal.
FastPosition2291's video suggests Pokemon Scarlet and Violet might be one of the few video games to feature cosmic events like a meteor shower. Some Red Dead Redemption 2 and Fortnite players have reported seeing a shooting star in the past, and Pokemon Scarlet and Violet have become the latest to join the club. Meteor showers are generally caused when streams of celestial debris called meteoroids enter the Earth's atmosphere at breakneck speeds and parallel trajectories. They occur annually, and NASA has established more than 100 confirmed meteor showers with official names.
As gamers spend more time in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, they will likely witness a meteor shower firsthand like FastPosition2291. A rare cosmic phenomenon like this is undoubtedly a glorious sight, but it might not appease disgruntled fans who are unhappy about performance issues in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. These gamers have regularly expressed their frustration about the technical troubles through social media and gaming forums. Most fans are displeased about the extremely low frame rate in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, as it often drops abruptly, leading to choppy gameplay. Hence, some gamers are calling for a Switch 2 as they believe the current console's hardware is below the required standards.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are available now on Nintendo Switch.
