Summary

  • Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players can face Infernape in Seven-Star Tera Raids from Oct 3-6, with a second run from Oct 10-13.
  • Infernape will have the Rock-type Tera and bring its Hidden Ability, Iron Fist, boosting punching attacks by 50%.
  • Trainers must strategize to counter Infernape's powerful punches, Rock-type moves, and flurry of attacks.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players will have a new challenge in early October, as the fourth-generation starter Infernape will appear in Seven-Star Tera Raid dens. The arrival of Infernape as the next Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Tera Raid boss will come just a few days following the departure of Serperior the Unrivaled.

Known as the Flame Pokemon, Infernape first appeared in Pokemon Diamond and Pearl as the Sinnoh region's Fire-type Starter. Infernape is the fully-evolved form of Chimchar and Monferno, and is usually classified as a Fire and Fighting dual-type Pokemon. With a highly versatile move roster, and high speed, physical attack and special attack statistics, Infernape is one of the more popular starters to come from the Sinnoh region. However, the Flame Pokemon's intensity is offset by its low HP and defenses, and weaknesses to Water, Flying, and Ground attacks. In Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, Infernape can be obtained by catching a Chimchar in the Terarium's Polar Biome and evolving it.

Although Serperior the Unrivaled was a simpler Tera Raid battle, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trainers will soon have a more challenging foe to face. According to Serebii.net, Infernape the Unrivaled will appear in Seven-Star Tera Raid dens starting Thursday, October 3, at 8:00 p.m. Eastern, and end on Sunday, October 6, at 7:59 p.m. Eastern. Pokemon trainers who miss out on the first fights against Infernape the Unrivaled will have another chance the following week, from October 10 to 13 at the same start and end times. Infernape the Unrivaled will have the Rock-type as its Tera type, and will grant the Mightiest Mark to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players who defeat it.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Reveal Infernape Seven-Star Tera Raids (October 2024)

  • Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will host Infernape The Unrivaled in Seven-Star Tera Raids
  • The raids will run from October 3 to 6, with a second run on October 10 to 13.
  • Infernape the Unrivaled will be a Rock-Tera boss with the Iron Fist hidden ability.
  • Pokemon trainers will need to ensure their teams can withstand Infernape's powerful punches.

Similar to previous Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Tera Raid bosses, Infernape the Unrivaled will come with its Hidden Ability, Iron Fist, which will boost the potency of punching attacks by 50%. Ergo, moves such as Mach Punch, Fire Punch, and Thunder Punch are likely to appear in the Flame Pokemon's repertoire. In addition to its punches, Infernape the Unrivaled will use a Rock-type attack like Stone Edge or Rock Slide to take advantage of its Tera type, and may use moves like Taunt and Swords Dance to stymie its foes. Although Rock-type Pokemon are known for their sturdiness, Infernape's nature as a glass cannon leaves it vulnerable to Water, Ground, and Fighting attacks.

Pokemon with strong defenses of their own that can also use moves like Body Press may be crucial in the battle against Infernape the Unrivaled. What strategies Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players will develop remains to be seen.
