These Blueberry Quests, or BBQs, allow Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players to tackle small challenges in exchange for BP, which is needed to unlock a large portion of The Indigo Disk's content. However, while most of these BBQs are fairly simple, one specific type of quest can become annoying very quickly for players dedicated to grinding BBQs to unlock all the content the DLC has to offer.

BBQs are a somewhat controversial part of The Indigo Disk, requiring players to complete a massive number of side quests to gain the BP necessary for unlocking DLC content like BB League Elite Four challenges and wild starter spawns. While the overall idea of BBQs seems like a nice way to reward players for taking part in activities they would naturally do, the payout of BP isn't enough to warrant the time needed to grind these quests. One type of BBQ in particular is a hassle to deal with, and it's not because of the in-game difficulty of the task.

The Indigo Disk's Picture-Taking BBQs are More Annoying Than They Initially Seem

One common type of quest players will find when taking on BBQs in The Indigo Disk DLC for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet requires them to take a picture using the in-game camera. These quests usually involve getting a photo of a certain type of critter, one doing some sort of activity like flying or swimming, or one located in a certain biome within Blueberry Academy's Terarium. When participating in online co-op, players may find a BBQ that requires them to take a photo of them with other players, but these quests can be more insidious than meets the eye.

What Makes Picture-Taking BBQs So Annoying

While actually performing these types of tasks isn't that difficult, with players simply needing to open the in-game camera and snap a photo of the requested type, these pictures aren't just discarded after they've been captured. Instead, every one of the photos players snap in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet saves to their Nintendo Switch's photo album, meaning they end up clogging the album of other screenshots saved on the system. For players who spend a lot of time grinding BBQs in The Indigo Disk, their Switch's album is going to quickly fill up with unnecessary, throw-away images from these quests.

To make matters worse, there is no simple solution to prevent the game from saving these photos to the Switch's album. Players will need to go into their Switch's photo album to manually sort and delete any unwanted pictures from these BBQs, which could potentially be a lot of additional work if they've been grinding BBQs for a while. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's in-game camera is nice for capturing cool moments in the games, like finding a shiny Pokemon or discovering a funny glitch, but the overuse of the camera for BBQs in this DLC makes it more of a hassle without the option to disable auto-saving photos.
