Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players can catch several new Pokemon in The Indigo Disk DLC's Terarium map that are not available to catch back in Paldea, like Tyrogue and its evolutionary line. Hitmontop, Hitmonlee, and Hitmonchan are three Fighting-type Pokemon that can evolve from Tyrogue; however, the method for evolution is quite distinct and specific. In this guide, we'll show you how to catch Tyrogue and go over its evolution requirements.

How to Catch Tyrogue, Hitmonchan, Hitmonlee, and Hitmontop
If you don't have the Pokedex data for Tyrogue and its evolutions yet, you can see the images below in the gallery for the habitat locations:
Tyrogue is all over the Canyon Biome and can also be found in caves. Its three evolutions can also be found in the Canyon Biome, but they seem harder to find as a wild spawn. The wild Tyrogue will probably be around level 60 to level 70, so it will actually evolve into Hitmonlee, Hitmonchan, or Hitmontop after gaining a single level. Now, how do you know which form Tyrogue will evolve into? Here's the answer.
How to Evolve Tyrogue into Hitmontop, Hitmonlee, and Hitmonchan
Tyrogue will evolve into one of the three Pokemon after it hits level 20. The form will depend on the Attack and Defense stats for Tyrogue:
- If its Attack stat is higher than its Defense, Tyrogue will evolve into Hitmonlee.
- If Tyrogue's Defense is higher than Attack, it will evolve into Hitmonchan.
- And if the Attack is the same as Defense, it will evolve into Hitmontop.
Make sure to check the Summary of Tyrogue before trying to evolve it. If one of the stats is higher (or lower) than it needs to be, you can feed Tyrogue some stat-increasing items like Adamant Mints, Relaxed Mints, Muscle Feathers, and Resist Feathers. Once the stats are where you want them, go ahead and feed Tyrogue XP Candy or a Rare Candy (or train it in battle like the good old-fashioned way).
Upon evolving, Hitmonlee, Hitmontop, and Hitmonchan will want to learn a new move. Hitmontop will learn the move Triple Kick, a three-kick attack that deals more damage with each successful hit. Hitmonchan will learn Drain Punch, a move that deals 75 power while sucking health from the opponent. Last but not least, Hitmonlee will want to learn Brick Break, one of the best Fighting-type moves.
