A new Pokemon Scarlet and Violet update has fixed the Gimmighoul raid issue along with some other reported problems. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet were launched with several issues that affected gameplay like drastic frame rate dips, parts of the map that players could fall through, and more, but this Gimmighoul raid bug has been resolved. There are three separate paths that Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players can take to experience the game, with Path of Legends featuring Titan Pokemon, Starfall Street focusing on Team Star, and Victory Road being the traditional Pokemon experience. Given that Pokemon Scarlet and Violet were released with glitches that affected all three adventures in the game, Nintendo has been working to patch the Gen 9 games. Because Gimmighoul is one of the coveted Pokemon in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet due to the coin collection aspect of the game, some players have noticed a problem with raids associated with the Pokemon.RELATED: Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Reveal New DLC Details, Launch Surprise Special Event Serebii webmaster Joe Merrick has confirmed the latest Pokemon Scarlet and Violet update includes a fix for the Gimmighoul raids that displayed the Pokemon with an item. According to Merrick, the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet coding had a null value rather than a zero one applied to Gimmighoul in its raids which created the possibility for the Ghost-type Pokemon to reward players with multiple items at the conclusion of the match. Once Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players boot up the game, the hotfix should be applied, ensuring that Gimmighoul raids produce the appropriate number of items.

Merrick also included a pre-patch screenshot of Gimmighoul being captured from a Pokemon Scarlet and Violet raid, with Grass Tera Shards, Nuggets, Swift Feathers, and multiple EXP Candies. This image emphasizes the problem with Pokemon Scarlet and Violet prior to the update and players may not encounter the plethora of reagents again. Responding to a concerned Pokemon Scarlet and Violet fan, Merrick also confirmed that another raid that had a similar error was suffering from a different issue on the back end rather than the null item value with Gimmighoul.

Because many Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players may have benefited from Gimmighoul raids inadvertently offering items, some may see a decline in how many they receive moving forward. With several players already having completed Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's Gimmighoul raid prior to the hotfix, it's currently unclear how much of the community benefited from the error.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are available now for Nintendo Switch.
