A Pokemon Scarlet and Violet player has shared a weird experience where they found their trainer trapped by an NPC. The moment has amused fellow Pokemon Scarlet and Violet fans, though thankfully, there is a solution for this troubled player.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet launched with more problems than any other main series entry to the franchise over the course of its history. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet were widely criticized by fans and critics alike due to the numerous bugs in the game that caused performance issues and could even cause parts of the world to simply vanish. While the game has seen many patches and improvements, there seem to still be some hiccups remaining, like the one that got this fan stuck.
Reddit user Consistent_Award_559 shared their experience in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet where they found themselves stuck. In a post simply titled "Help," a brief video shows the player stuck between a plant, counter, and The Teal Mask NPC Briar. The player wiggles their trainer around trying to escape the situation, but even walking in the direction of the one opening they presumably came from fails. Meanwhile, Briar is intently staring down at the player the entire time.
Reddit users have been thoroughly amused at this sight. Several have joked about Briar cornering the player to try and talk to them about Area Zero or Terapagos, and that the player has no choice but to listen. One joked about the player needing to use a Memory of Grace, which is an Elden Ring tool that lets players warp back to the last site of Grace they had visited. While this encounter in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet seems like a very minor bug that few would stumble into, the good news is that there's a couple potential solutions.
Pokemon Fans Give Advice on Escaping NPC
Players of course suggested that the fan simply shut down their game and restart it. This would put the player back wherever they last saved. However, in the event that they accidentally saved while stuck in this predicament, there is one additional alternative. If the player can't utilize their most recent save, they can return to the main title screen and enter X + B + Up. This will allow them to access a special menu that has a Pokemon Scarlet and Violet backup save function that the player could load from.
While the fan hasn't reported back on whether they were able to escape their predicament, hopefully they managed to find their way out. Considering they're in a DLC area, it would be incredibly frustrating to lose all of one's progress after having come this far.
