Both the Porygon2 and Flutter Mane distribution events will be the first giveaways in a new era for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. On June 5, the Nintendo Switch 2 hit store shelves globally, and the ninth generation of Pokemon games received a significant performance upgrade as part of the launch. By taking advantage of the Switch 2's upgraded hardware, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet now run at up to 60 FPS on the new system, including in areas that previously struggled to maintain a stable frame rate. Starting June 7 and 8, Porygon2 will be distributed via a Mystery Gift Code that will be revealed during the 2025 Pokemon Trainers Cup in South Korea. Two weeks later, as reported by ComicBook, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players can claim a Flutter Mane via a separate code event. The Flutter Mane Mystery Gift Code will be shown off during the 2025 Pokemon Japan Championships on June 21 and 22. This special Flutter Mane is modeled after the one used by the 2024 Pokemon Japan Champion, Hyuma Hara. The moves that the distributed Flutter Mane will have are Moonblast, Icy Wind, Taunt, and Trick Room. Flutter Mane will also hold a Booster Energy, which activates its Protosynthesis ability at the start of the battle to increase its power.
