  • Lumfdoesgaming shared their Flutter Mane build, featuring moves and strategies for an easier battle.
  • Despite its challenge, lumfdoesgaming's strategy proves Dragonite can be defeated with careful planning.

Shortly after Pokemon Scarlet and Violet released Dragonite the Unrivaled as a Seven-star Tera Raid boss, one trainer developed a strategy to solo the battle using a Paradox powerhouse called Flutter Mane. The Pokemon Scarlet and Violet player shared the Flutter Mane build on social media, which included moves, items, and things that needed to happen for the build to work.

Known as the Dragon Pokemon, Dragonite is the latest Seven-star Tera Raid boss to arrive in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Across multiple generations, Dragonite is regarded as one of the top mixed attackers in the Pokemon series. As the final foe in a trilogy of Seven-star Tera Raids, Dragonite the Unrivaled grants the Mightiest Mark to trainers who can defeat it. While Dragonite is normally a Dragon and Flying dual-type monster, its latest incarnation has the Normal type as its Tera type. Dragonite the Unrivaled has the moves Rain Dance, Hurricane, Thunder, Extreme Speed, Earthquake, Draco Meteor, and Dragon Dance at its disposal.

According to sources, fans looking to pick up the full experience of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet on a single cartridge may be in luck.

While Dragonite can be obtained in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet via other methods, one player made defeating its Seven-star version an easier task. A Reddit user named lumfdoesgaming posted their solo strategy for fighting Dragonite the Unrivaled on the r/PokemonScarletViolet subreddit. In their post, lumfdoesgaming stated that Flutter Mane was the critter they used to defeat Dragonite without taking damage. As a Past Paradox Pokemon, Flutter Mane is readily available in Pokemon Scarlet, so Pokemon Violet players must trade to obtain one. Flutter Mane's Ghost and Fairy types make it immune to Extreme Speed and Draco Meteor.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Player Shares Flutter Mane Solo Build For Dragonite Raids

Although Flutter Mane builds exist for competitive Pokemon battles, lumfdoesgaming used a specific build for Dragonite the Unrivaled. Flutter Mane's moves were Sunny Day, Calm Mind, Stored Power, and Dazzling Gleam. Lumfdoesgaming also maxed out Flutter Mane's HP and special attack stats and gave it an Air Balloon to counter Earthquake and the Stellar Tera type for extra damage. However, some luck was involved with this gambit, as Dragonite's Hurricane has a one-in-four chance to hit any Pokemon on the field following Rain Dance. If hit, the Air Balloon would pop, and the strategy would not work. Lumfdoesgaming stated that their Flutter Mane build is not for online play in P okemon Scarlet and Violet.

Though Dragonite is a formidable Dragon Pokemon, strategies from Pokemon fans like lumfdoesgaming have made the battle easier to manage. It remains to be seen what The Pokemon Company will do in future Tera raids.
