A Pokemon Ruby player managed to finish the game's Pokedex after 19 years. One goal that many who play Game Freak's RPG series have is to complete the Pokedex of the title that they are playing. It is always one of the main missions of gamers whenever they play any of the entries in the Pokemon franchise.

The Pokedex for Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire features nearly 400 creatures. If a player is able to capture every pocket monster, minus Deoxys and Jirachi, they will be rewarded with an in-game diploma from Game Freak. However, completing the Pokedex in the third Generation is a tough goal as it requires gamers to utilize every game in that era of the series.

A Reddit user named Speedi77 shared an image of themselves at the Space Center Houston with their copy of Pokemon Ruby. The gamer was celebrating the fact that they had completed the Pokedex in the game after obtaining the Legendary Pokemon Deoxys. According to Speedi77, they were never able to make it to any distribution events giving away the pocket monster, which bummed them out. However, due to modern technology, they were able to finally capture Deoxys and finish the Pokedex in their game.

Pokemon Ruby Player Finishes Pokedex After 19 Years

Speedi77's post has over 3,000 upvotes, showing that a multitude of Pokemon players stand behind them. A good number of gamers wanted to know how Speedi77 was able to possess Deoxys years after all of the distribution events happened, to which the player revealed that they used a special bit of software developed by programmer Goppier. The application is able to send event Pokemon that are no longer obtainable into a copy of the older titles, making it possible to get special pocket monsters such as Deoxys. It is awesome to see a gamer complete the Pokedex in one of the titles, especially after playing for years on end.

Many of the gamers who play the Pokemon titles aim to complete the Pokedex. While it is not an easy task, especially for those playing the earlier Generations, it is very rewarding. It also grants players bragging rights for finishing one of the more difficult tasks found in video games. Pokemon fans oftentimes receive a reward for completing the Pokedex within the title itself, which includes in-game certificates, rare pocket monsters, and hard-to-find items such as the Shiny Charm. As new entries release in the series, gamers will be given more chances to catch them all and claim the coveted title of Pokemon master.
