According to Speedi77, they were never able to make it to any distribution events giving away the pocket monster, which bummed them out. However, due to modern technology, they were able to finally capture Deoxys and finish the Pokedex in their game.

The application is able to send event Pokemon that are no longer obtainable into a copy of the older titles, making it possible to get special pocket monsters such as Deoxys. It is awesome to see a gamer complete the Pokedex in one of the titles, especially after playing for years on end.
