A Pokemon fan has given Slugma and Magcargo new regional forms, plus a new evolution to extend the family line. The Pokemon fan's new variations of Slugma and Magcargo change up their typing, which plays a role in their newfound appearances, as well.
Pokemon regional forms, convergent species, and even branching evolutions have all helped give creative fans inventive ideas. While most Pokemon have stable and established evolutionary trees, the potential for a Pokemon to gain new variations or convergent spin-offs has led to numerous clever ideas from fans that many wish would actually appear in a real game.

Pokemon Fan Gives Slugma a New Regional Form Line
Now, a Pokemon fan artist called primaljort has shared their ideas for what Slugma could be like if it gained a new regional line. Slugma loses its Fire-typing and becomes a Dragon-type instead, with it gaining a dingy coastal cave habitat, rather than the usual volcanoes and mountains the normal versions are usually found in. As a result of its new typing and habitat, Slugma has changed to primarily blue, and has gained tusks. Magcargo has shifted to become a Dragon/Water-type Pokemon, which primarily feasts upon Gastrodons and Cloysters. The Pokemon's details indicate that it takes its shell from Slowbros or Slowkings, and the extreme force it can put out through its bite can be used to intimidate other Pokemon.
Lastly, the Pokemon family line has gained an extra member, with the addition of Regicargo. Carrying on the Dragon/Water-type, this Pokemon is substantially larger than its predecessors, and it has a massive appetite to match. Interestingly, this Pokemon exhibits hoarding behaviors like classic dragons in lore, even going so far as to steal King's Rocks, preventing other Pokemon from evolving. In addition to becoming large, the Pokemon has gained extra tusks, and is adorned with the King's Rocks that it stole. Its stats have also grown, seeing an increase in HP, Attack, Special Attack, and Special Defense.
Pokemon fans seem to be quite intrigued by the notion of these regional forms. Some of the compliments have revolved around the new concepts, while others have praised the artwork, imagining that these renderings would easily work in a game. Another liked the idea of a tanky Water/Dragon-type Pokemon, which Regicargo certainly seems like it would count as. While these designs can't ever be a part of a real Pokemon game, artist primaljort is no stranger to coming up with what-if Pokemon designs, so fans may want to check out what else they've come up with.
