Summary
- A Pokemon Presents livestream will be held on February 27 at 9 AM EST / 6 AM PST.
- Fans are expecting to learn more about Pokemon Legends: Z-A during the presentation.
- It's also speculated that players may get a peek at Gen 10.
A new Pokemon Presents livestream presentation has been scheduled for February 27, 2025, and should provide a lot of information about upcoming games and events. Some Pokemon fans may have to get up early in the morning to watch the presentation live, but there should be plenty to get excited about.
The upcoming stream is being held as part of the Pokemon Day 2025 celebration. While the Pokemon craze didn't become a worldwide phenomenon until 1998, the first pair of games in the franchise, Pokemon Red and Green, saw their release on February 27, 1996, exclusively in Japan. Starting with the 20th-anniversary celebration in 2016, The Pokemon Company has been hosting its special Pokemon Day events, which in the past have featured live concerts, showings of Pokemon movies, and, of course, big reveals of video games and in-game events.
New Information Confirms Pikachu Was Supposed to Speak in the Pokemon Anime
A long-standing rumor has been confirmed: Pikachu, and maybe other Pokemon, would originally speak in the anime series.
Although die-hard fans have come to expect it over the years, the official Pokemon Twitter page has now confirmed that the Pokemon Presents 2025 live stream will be happening on February 27 at 9 AM EST / 6 AM PST. The post features a short video that simply shows Pikachu wandering back and forth across the screen while information about the date and time of the event scrolls along the bottom. The Pokemon Company isn't giving any official word regarding what fans of the monster-catching franchise can expect to see, but there's plenty of speculation about the line-up.
When is the Next Pokemon Presents Livestream?
- Thursday, February 27 at 9 AM EST / 6 AM PST
Pokemon Legends: Z-A, the follow-up to the popular title Pokemon Legends: Arceus from 2022, was officially revealed to the world during 2024's Pokemon Presents steam, and many fans expect it to be the main attraction at this year's live stream event. Pokemon Legends: Z-A is set to release in 2025, but no word of an official release date has been made public, so that may be one major reveal happening during the show. Fans are eager to see more of how the Kalos region introduced in Pokemon X and Y will look in a Legends-style game, so a new trailer could satisfy that curiosity.
While one big game is already on the way, there is also the possibility of a preview of Pokemon Gen 10. The mainline Gen 9 games, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, were released in 2022, and since 2010's Pokemon Black and White, a new mainline game has been released once every three years. If that trend continues, the launch of Gen 10 is due in 2025, though with Legends: Z-A already coming this year and no sign of a new mainline game yet, it looks like that streak may be broken. However, fans can also anticipate special events in ongoing games like Pokemon GO and Pokemon Sleep.

LIVE THE LIFE OF A POKÉMON TRAINER IN THE STREETS OF LUMIOSE CITY
Whether you’re a die-hard Pokémon fan or about to toss your first Poké Ball, the Pokémon Legends: Z-A game has plenty to offer for Trainers of all types. Experience classic gameplay with modern twists that are sure to revolutionize your Pokémon RPG experience.
CATCH, BATTLE, AND MEGA-EVOLVE—ALL IN REAL TIME!
Step onto the battlefield and command your Pokémon directly—there are no turns! For the first time in the Pokémon RPG series, Trainers and their Pokémon can both move around in real-time battles, and your Pokémon will unleash their moves when you tell them to. Strategically swapping out your Pokémon and accounting for each move’s timing and area of effect will greatly help you in this new style of battle.
HARNESS THE POWER OF MEGA EVOLUTION
When Trainers have a strong bond with their Pokémon, a Key Stone worn by the Trainer resonates with a Mega Stone held by their Pokémon, allowing Mega Evolution to take place.
ROGUE MEGA EVOLUTION
Rampaging Rogue Mega-Evolved Pokémon are threatening Lumiose City. These Pokémon are extra tough to beat, but if you do manage to defeat them, you'll receive valuable Mega Stones as a reward.
RISE THROUGH THE RANKS OF THE Z-A ROYALE
You’re invited to join the Z-A Royale, a competition for Pokémon Trainers to test their skills and determine who’s strongest.
Each night, a battle zone for the competition will appear. Prepare yourself by spending the day in wild zones, catching and training Pokémon, then venture into the battle zone and take on other Trainers.
Be strategic and complete bonus card challenges as you battle to speed up your climb from Rank Z to Rank A. Can you climb the ranks and reach the top?
WELCOME TO LUMIOSE CITY
Visit shops, restaurants, and more, all centered around Prism Tower. An urban redevelopment plan is underway to shape the city into a place that belongs to both people and Pokémon.
BATTLE WITH TRAINERS FROM AROUND THE WORLD
With a Nintendo Switch Online membership*, you can battle up to three other Trainers at once, locally or online, in frenetic real-time battles!
