A Pokemon fan has recently designed six new creatures based on two fictional types not existing in the games: Gourmet and Sound. The Pokemon community is extremely creative, and it’s always coming up with fresh designs, such as fusions between different creatures, alternative regional versions, or even new evolutions for Pokemon, and this artwork really stands out.

The latest entry in the franchise, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, currently has Pokemon from 18 different types. While most types were introduced in the first generation, Dark and Steel entered the picture in Gen 2, and Fairy-type Pokemon only appeared from Gen 4 onwards. Lately, though, no new types have been introduced, so fans try to create their own sometimes.

Now, a Pokemon fan called MonsieurMidnight has come up with six designs for creatures that belong to the new Gourmet and Sound types: Deliceon, Drangerine, Kalosian Appletun, Vibreon, Doremawfasol, and Aristoslash. While Gourmet-type Pokemon are based on different kinds of food, the Sound-type creatures have looser concepts, being inspired by motives such as musical instruments or rave parties. For instance, the Dragon/Gourmet-type Drangerine is derived from the idea of putting a Dratini inside a tangerine, while the Grass/Gourmet-type looks like an apple pie. The Ghost/Sound-type Doremawfasol resembles a piano monster and was greatly inspired by the piano in Super Mario 64, according to the creator. Perhaps, the oddest design belongs to Aristoslash, which is a humanoid Steel/Sound Pokemon that resembles a soldier with a saw as a hand, having a pretty unique take on the concept of sound.

Also, the designs come with two new evolutions for Eevee, which is interesting considering that Pokemon Scarlet and Violet do not feature new Eeveelutions. One of them is Deliceon, which looks like a Dachshund dog made of a creamy dessert. The other is Vibreon, an Eeveelution with a cool vibe, techno glasses, and crystals instead of ears and tails.

MonsieurMidnight is not the first fan to come with new types, though. Last month, another fan created Halloween-inspired Eeveelutions that belonged to alternative types. The artwork had examples like Spookeon, a Scary-type Eeveelution that evolved the Pokemon into a ghost, for instance. Another example was Vampeon, which was a Monster-type creature that was inspired by vampires. In total, the fan came up with nine different creatures, also making versions of Eevee inspired by werewolves, mummies, the mythical Cerberus, witches, and much more, which were a perfect fit for Halloween.
