Summary

  • Fans have been getting creative with Paradox forms for Pokemon, with Starmie receiving a unique Iron-Shell design by leolethanh.
  • Starmie's Water/Psychic type combo is rare.
  • The Pokemon community is thriving with talented artists reimagining classic creatures like Starmie in new and exciting ways.

A Pokemon fan has recently designed a new future Paradox form for Starmie. Paradox forms were introduced in Pokemon’s 9th generation, with Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, and have been very popular in fan art since then.

Starmie is a Water/Psychic-type creature introduced in the first generation of Pokemon games. Up until the fourth generation, Starmie could only be acquired by evolving a Staryu using a Water Stone or by trading it with other players. In later games, however, it was possible to find the sea star-shaped creature in the wild. Starmie has a pretty uncommon dual-type combination, which is only shared by other creatures such as Slowbro, Bruxish, and Veluza, and it has powerful moves such as Psychic and Hydro Pump.

Pokemon Fan Designs Incredible Mega Evolution for Sunflora

A Pokemon fan devises a Mega Evolution for Sunflora, a Grass-type monster that originally appeared in the second generation of the franchise.

Now, a prolific Pokemon fan artist called leolethanh decided to design a unique future Paradox form for Starmie called Iron-Shell. In this new form, the creature becomes a Water/Steel-type monster and obtains a new signature move called Aqua Whirlwind, which has a base damage of 50. The design of Iron-Shell is pretty interesting, as the creature keeps its iconic starfish shape, but it gains metal skin and what seems to be crystal objects floating around it.

Future Paradox Starmie Pokemon Fan Art

This is not the first Paradox form shared by leolethanh with the community, though. A week ago, the fan designed a past Paradox form for Arbok called Earth-Fangs, for example. This drawing followed a similar art style, and it turned the snake-inspired critter into a huge serpent with spikes on its back and a dinosaur-inspired tail.

Starmie is a fairly popular Pokemon when considering how often it’s depicted in fan art. Last year, another Pokemon fan designed an impressive evolution for Starmie, reimagining the monster as a Water/Steel-type critter called Starmor. While following the same subtype combination as leolethanh’s creation, this fan came up with a completely new design that makes Starmie resemble a big, red shield with a blue jewel in the middle.

Another artist created a Mega evolution for Starmie around this time, too. In this case, the Pokemon retained its original subtype but gained many unique features. Instead of looking like a plain starfish, Mega Starmie was fairly larger, had several red jewels encrusted in its body, and had some sort of white scarf around it. Hopefully, other amazing Pokemon fans will come up with new alternative forms for the popular Water/Psychic-type monster soon, delighting the community with the quality of their artwork.
