One dedicated Pokemon fan recently took to the internet to show off their impressive Nurse Joy cosplay, with the community amazed by the player's resemblance to the beloved character. Located in Pokemon Centers in each iteration, Nurse Joy is a series staple, and has been a popular source of inspiration for fan works since the Pokemon franchise kicked off in Japan in 1996.
As the series approaches its 30th anniversary, Pokemon is showing no signs of slowing down, with plenty for fans to look forward to throughout 2025 and beyond. This week, it was announced that the new Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Seven-Star Tera Raid boss for June would be Baxcalibur, with the beast slated to appear from June 19 until June 22. Additionally, Rookidee was confirmed as Pokemon GO's featured Pokemon for the August Community Day, with the creature winning 77% of player votes for the coveted spot, beating out Frillish, Wimpod, and Lechonk.
Nintendo Switch 2 Shouldn't Break One Pokemon Tradition
The Pokemon series has always aimed to be a portable adventure, and with the arrival of the Switch 2, it should maintain one tradition.
Fans of the legendary series continue to pay homage to their favorite creatures and characters from the games and anime series, with Reddit user itspeep0 recently sharing her Nurse Joy cosplay with the community. According to the user, the costume was handmade and shown off at a local comic convention. Fitting with the character's lore, the cosplayer handed out Pokemon bandages to anyone who chatted with her. This isn't the first impressive cosplay inspired by the series to appear online this week, with another fan recently showing off an elaborate Garchomp cosplay on the Pokemon subreddit.
Pokemon Community Wowed by One Fan’s Nurse Joy Cosplay
It was recently confirmed that Pokemon will be appearing at Gamescom 2025, which is slated to take place from August 20 to 24 at the Koelnmesse exhibition center in Cologne, Germany. Nintendo and Capcom have also been added to the list of developers set to show off their titles at this year's event, which is the largest European gaming trade show, expected to draw a crowd of over 320,000 attendees from over 100 countries.
Fans are currently eager to get their hands on the next entry in the franchise, with Pokemon Legends: Z-A set to be released on October 16 for both the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2. The ambitious title will take players to Lumiose City and will serve as a sequel to 2013's Pokemon X and Y. This isn't the only new title on the horizon, with many fans hoping to hear more about Pokemon Champions during the upcoming Pokemon Presents stream on July 22. While somewhat unlikely, it's also believed that the presentation could show off the tenth Pokemon generation.
