An inventive Pokemon fan created convergent forms for Diglett and Dugtrio, sharing their work online. Convergent Pokemon were first seen by fans when Game Freak released Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, introducing pocket monsters that, although they have what is called “ecological similarity,” there's no relation to their original counterparts known by Pokemon players.
There are only six monsters with convergent forms, and with so many Pokemon lacking them, it's not uncommon to see fans sharing their ideas for convergent Pokemon. One example is the Pokemon fan that created a convergent form for Ralts, turning the Psychic-type into a marine creature with a clever mermaid-esque design. A second fan had an adorable idea and made a convergent Sudowoodo that is a bug stick pretending to be the Gen 2 critter. This time, another member of the Pokemon community presented their idea for a convergent form, giving a classic monster a new makeover.
Pokemon Fan Art Imagines Regional Forms Based on Norse Mythology
A Pokemon fan designs several regional forms based on Norse mythology, and surprises the community with their creativity and attention to detail.
On the Pokemon subreddit, user Matratzfratz posted their concept for a convergent Diglett and Dugtrio, attracting the attention of other fans. Called DiglE.T. And Abductrio, these forms have gray bodies, oval heads with large black eyes, and noses similar to those of the Gen 1 Pokemon. According to the Pokedex description created by the artist, DiglE.T. And Abductrio come from outer space, so they never completely leave their wormholes, and because of that, their full appearances are unknown. While Diglett and Dugtrio are pure Ground-types, the convergent monsters they created are Psychic/Dark-types.
Clever Pokemon Fan Art Makes Alien-Like Convergent Forms for Diglett and Dugtrio
Diglett and Dugtrio are two of the six creatures that have convergent forms - Wiglett and Wugtrio. The Kanto critters are inspired by moles and have brown skin, a large pink nose, and small black eyes, and they inhabit forests, tunnels, and underground caves. Their convergent forms are Water-types that live on the seas and coastlines, and their appearance is based on garden eels. While Wiglett is white, long, and has a large red nose, Wugtrio is red and has a white nose.
The comments section approved of the artist's work, making humorous remarks such as imagining Abductrio appearing in the player's room at 3 a.m. The OP's design does indeed stand out for combining several concepts and offering a creative take on a second convergent form for Diglett and Dugtrio. Additionally, their work showcases the potential of convergent forms, should Game Freak decide to explore this concept in future Pokemon games and create even more monsters of this type.
