  • Pokemon fan artist, endifi, creates impressive human versions of beloved Pokemon, including a spooky Mimikyu design perfect for Halloween.
  • Fans praise endifi's artwork for its ability to retain the core design of each Pokemon in its human counterpart's hair and clothing.
  • Mimikyu's Halloween-like design makes it a fan-favorite and therefore an ideal subject for endifi's Halloween-inspired art.

An artistic Pokemon fan continues to envision several franchise mainstays as humans with a spooky take on Mimikyu that’s perfect for Halloween. Nintendo’s series of monster-collecting RPGs adds creative new Pokemon with every new game, and this has naturally inspired fans to create impressive artwork of popular creatures like the Red and Blue starter trio in October-themed colors or Pikachu as a jack-o-lantern.

Another popular trend among Pokemon fan artists is creating human versions of these beloved mascots, and a Reddit user named endifi has been leading the charge with an impressive series of anime-inspired drawings. From such legendary Pokemon as Raikou to more mundane creatures like Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire’s Water starter Mudkip, endifi’s art has been praised by their fellow Pokemon players for retaining the core design of each monster in its human counterpart's hair and clothing.

Endifi recently posted their latest work on r/pokemon in time for Halloween: a human version of Mimikyu that resembles a young witch from a “magical girl” anime. This design is actually an updated version of a drawing endifi made in 2019, and by their own admission not much has changed between the old picture and this latest redraw. Still, endifi’s human Mimikyu stays true to the spirit of the original Pokemon's Halloween-like design, with a ragged dress matching its burlap sack-like design, a mask and pointy-eared bonnet standing in for Mimikyu’s head, and a dark brown broom representing its tail.

Mimikyu was first introduced in Pokemon Sun and Moon and has gone on to be a fan-favorite due to its unique appearance and status as one of the creepiest Pokemon around. As a dual-type Ghost/Fairy Pokemon that seemingly hides within an old rag, Mimikyu is quite fitting for Halloween, and fans have created some haunting variants of it disguised as other Pokemon for trick-or-treating and disturbing evolved forms. Earlier this month, GameStop offered Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players a free Mimikyu variant with an Electric-type Terra form to celebrate the Halloween season.

It seems endifi is getting into the Halloween spirit themselves, as evidenced by the updated human Mimikyu they recently posted for their fellow Pokemon fans to enjoy. Just like the rest of endifi’s designs, this Mimikyu strikes a great balance between reimaging it as an anime-like human and retaining the spooky look that players first fell in love with. There are still plenty of Pokemon left to receive this treatment, and endifi’s growing number of fans are eager to see what they come up with for their next Pokemon art project.
