A Pokemon fan created art showing what it would look like if Marowak had two Mega Evolutions, surprising the community. Pokemon introduced Mega Evolutions with the release of the Gen 6 games, and since then, the gimmick has become a fan favorite.
Marowak is a pure Ground-type Pokemon with a highly resistant body that overcame the grief of its mother's death when it was a Cubone, turning into a fierce creature. While other Kanto monsters have gained Mega Evolutions, Marowak is one of those that does not yet have one. Despite this, it has a regional form that can be obtained by simply evolving a Cubone in Alola at night. With that, the critter becomes an imposing Fire/Ghost-type. Piquing the curiosity of the community, a creative Pokemon fan gave Marowak a new makeover.
Pokemon Fan Makes Surprise Discovery in Dad's Shed
A Pokemon fan makes an incredible discovery in their father's shed, showing how beloved the iconic franchise is by fans of all ages.
On the Pokemon subreddit, user LapiSan_Laboratory shared fan art imagining two Mega Evolutions for Marowak. Created by an artist called BadaFra with presentation and details by LapiSan_Laboratory, the Mega Marowak X is a Ground-type that appears without its skull and with a Cubone sitting on its head holding a bone club, with the two battling together as Mega Kangaskhan does. The Y form is a Ground/Ghost-type that explores Marowak's sad story, depicting the Pokemon with tears in its eyes and only half of the bone club. The other half of the club is held by the image of its deceased mother, with whom it has such a strong connection that her ghost helps it in battle. This bittersweet bond is also reflected in Mega Marowak Y's special ability, which is called Parental Bond.
Creative Pokemon Fan Art Shows What It Would Be Like If Marowak Could Mega Evolve
Other Redditors approved of the creativity of the concepts created by BadaFra, with some Redditors pointing to the ghost Mega Marowak as their favorite. Interestingly, this is not the first time that the Kantonian monster has been featured in Mega Evolution fan art. Previously, another Pokemon fan imagined a Mega Marowak, but with a more prehistoric feel. This form has bone appendages on its tail and chest, and its eye and skull design gives it an even more imposing look.
That is not the first time BadaFra has attracted attention with their work, having previously imagined new Mega Evolutions for Gengar. In Marowak's case, the Redditor impresses with the way they explore the Pokemon's background, creating two forms with amazing designs and clever references. With the release of Pokemon Legends: Z-A scheduled for October 16 and Mega Evolutions returning, it remains to be seen whether Marowak will make an appearance alongside an official Mega form.
