The latest trailer for Pokemon Legends: Z-A revealed plenty of new information to get fans excited about the upcoming release. With so many new revelations about Pokemon Legends: Z-A shared though, one big reveal may have been hiding in plain sight.

Pokemon fans were treated to a long-awaited new trailer for Pokemon Legends: Z-A at the end of the recent Pokemon Presents, and it came with tons of news to unpack. Alongside more information about the game’s story and new characters, the trailer shared some information about the return of Mega Evolution, perhaps the most anticipated part of the new game. It also introduced the idea of wild rogue Mega Evolutions, but the headline news was the reveal of a new Mega Evolution for Dragonite, which had long been rumored, but unconfirmed. Although this was the only new mega evolution revealed, leaks have suggested that several more are on the way. Interestingly enough, though, one new character, a sketchy businessman named Corbeau, seems to hint at the inclusion of a new Mega form for Arbok that was absent from the leaked list.

4 Pokemon Legends: Z-A Leaked Mega Evolutions Already Stand Above The Rest

Pokemon Legends: Z-A may end up showing favoritism toward four new Mega Evolutions for one key reason, if leaks are true.

Mega Arbok Could Be On The Way in Pokemon Legends: Z-A

Since the announcement of Pokemon Legends: Z-A over a year ago, leaks and rumors about the next Pokemon game have been plentiful. None of the information shared that way holds much credence, being unofficial, yet some leakers have developed a reputation for delivering true information about upcoming games. One such leaker has shared a list of 26 Pokemon who are supposedly receiving new Mega Evolutions. It turns out that Dragonite, one of the names on the list, was correct, but that still doesn’t confirm or disprove the information in that particular leak. Even though many fans believe the information about which new Megas are on the way, it appears that, even if partially true, that leaker’s list may be incomplete.

The new trailer for Legends: Z-A is notable for confirming that new megas are on the way by showcasing Mega Dragonite for the first time. Some fans have even noticed that the trailer might be teasing 2 other new Mega Evolutions, Staryu and Scrafty, who were also on the leaked list of new forms. What many fans may not have picked up on is the presence of a Mega Evolution Key Stone in the lapel pin of the new character, Corbeau.

As the boss of the Rust Syndicate, who seems to have a problem with the player character, Corbeau can be seen battling with them in the trailer, perhaps acting as a mid-boss for the game, similar to how gym leaders work in the mainline Pokemon entries. The presence of Corbeau’s Key Stone seemingly confirms that he will use Mega Evolution in his battle, and his ace Pokemon is shown to be Arbok, possibly hinting at a new mega form for another Gen 1 Pokemon. Another potential clue is that the player is seen battling him with Ampharos, who can also Mega Evolve to give Corbeau’s Mega Pokemon a fair fight.

Mega Evolution is Changing in Legends: Z-A

With a new, un-leaked Mega Evolution now a distinct possibility, even players who thought they knew what to expect might be in for a few surprises. Fans have had high hopes for Pokemon Legends: Z-A ever since its reveal, particularly about how the game will handle Mega Evolution. Despite it being a fun mechanic, it’s no secret that the original version of the transformations had a few issues. Some Pokemon have overpowered Megas, while others who were good candidates for new forms were snubbed the first time around. With the return of the mechanic, hopefully Legends: Z-A’s Mega Evolution can fix past issues that the mechanic suffered from.
