A ridiculous new promotion requires Pokemon fans in Japan to do their best impression of a Slowpoke in order to snag a code for the creature in either Pokemon Legends: Z-A or Pokemon Home. Unfortunately, there's no indication that this odd event will be making its way to game stores overseas, and Pokemon Legends: Z-A players in other regions will simply need to catch the popular Water/Psychic-type monster like normal if they want to add it to their Pokedex.
Scheduled to be released for both the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 on October 16, Pokemon Legends: Z-A follows the popular 2022 title Pokemon Legends: Arceus and will take place entirely in the Kalos region's Lumiose City. The Paris-inspired setting was originally seen in 2013's Pokemon X and Y, and fans are eager to see how this unique setting will impact the title's plot. Those who haven't pre-ordered the game may want to do so through GameStop, as the store's Pokemon Legends: Z-A bonuses include an in-game Trench Coat and Pants Set and an exclusive tote bag while supplies last.
One Unlucky Pokemon is Getting the Short End of the Stick in Legends: Z-A
Pokemon Legends: Z-A's latest trailer finally confirmed its starter trio, but it also seems that one starter Pokemon might have missed out.
Fans Are Invited to Visit Any Pokemon Center in Japan and Imitate Slowpoke’s Cry to Earn a Code
Fans of the Water/Psychic-type creature Slowpoke who are located in Japan have a unique chance to snag a code for one in either Pokemon Legends: Z-A or Pokemon Home from October 24 to November 11. To celebrate the opening of the newest Pokemon Center location in Kagawa, along with Pokemon Legends: Z-A's highly anticipated release, fans who imitate a Slowpoke's cry for the staff will be handed a code for the creature. While there's nothing particularly special about the Slowpoke itself, the promotion is a fun way to both promote the game's release and to celebrate Kagawa Prefecture, which has dubbed Slowpoke as its mascot. Unfortunately, fans in other regions won't be able to take part in the fun, but anyone visiting Japan during the event period may want to give it a try.
In the weeks leading up to the game's release, players have been learning more about Pokemon Legends: Z-A's Mega Evolutions. At least 26 of these forms will appear in the title, and fans most recently got a look at the Mega variants of Chesnaught, Delphox, and Greninja during the Nintendo Direct livestream on September 12. While the addition of these forms is exciting, some were frustrated to learn that certain Mega Evolutions in Pokemon Legends: Z-A will require a Nintendo Switch Online membership to access.
Excitement for the title is ramping up as its release date draws closer, with Pokemon Legends: Z-A promising to break several series traditions. Players can look forward to real-time battles in multiplayer for the first time, and will also be able to take on other trainers from around the world via online functionality.
