Pokemon Legends: Z-A is getting DLC that will add two Mega Evolutions for the beloved Generation 1 Pokemon Raichu. Pokemon Legends: Z-A is taking the franchise back to the Kalos region, and it is not wasting the opportunity to add more Mega Evolutions to the mix. In the lead-up to the game's release, Pokemon Legends: Z-A has been revealing the new Mega Evolutions that fans can expect to see in the game.
Some of the new Mega Evolutions coming to Pokemon Legends: Z-A include Mega Dragonite, Mega Victreebel, and Mega Malamar. Most of the new Mega Evolutions coming to Pokemon Legends: Z-A will be available in the base game, but some of them will be relegated to the newly-announced paid DLC, Mega Dimension.

Pokemon Legends: Z-A Mega Dimension DLC Announced With New Trailer
Pre-orders for Pokemon Legends: Z-A's Mega Dimension DLC will go live later today, but at the time of this writing, release date and pricing information is unavailable. The trailer announcing the DLC confirmed that Generation 6 Mythical Pokemon Hoopa will play a role in the expansion, and that Raichu will be getting two Mega Evolutions: Mega Raichu X and Mega Raichu Y. The two forms are fairly similar, though Mega Raichu Y is darker orange and has lightning bolts sticking out of its head whereas Mega Raichu X is lighter and has two lightning bolts for tails. How these Pokemon will be incorporated into Pokemon Legends: Z-A will have to wait until a later date.
A release date for Pokemon Legends: Z-A's Mega Dimension DLC was not announced, but we do know that fans won't have to wait for launch to get some of the content that's being added as part of the expansion. Holo-X and Holo-Y apparel items will be available to those that pre-order the Mega Dimension DLC as soon as Pokemon Legends: Z-A releases on October 16. As a reminder, Pokemon Legends: Z-A is technically a Switch 1 game, but it will be playable on Switch 2 through backward compatibility, plus it is also getting a special Switch 2 Edition with enhanced features. None of the DLC content appears to be exclusive to one version of the game or the other.
Pokemon Legends: Z-A didn't just reveal new Mega Evolutions for Raichu at the latest Nintendo Direct. It was also confirmed that the Generation 6 starters will be getting their own Mega Evolutions as well, so franchise fans have that to look forward to on October 16.
