Pokemon fans have been speculating about new Mega Evolutions that might appear in Legends: Z-A ever since the game’s first announcement trailer, and finally, some evidence may have emerged. A new list of possible new Mega Evolutions has leaked online, including some surprising choices. This list is unofficial and unconfirmed, so fans might be wise to be skeptical, as the last official announcement confirmed that Pokemon Legends: Z-A will receive a Switch 2 release, but didn’t confirm any Mega Evolutions. Why Eternal Flower Floette Deserves a Mega Evolution

Eternal Flower Floette is among the list of 27 leaked Mega Evolutions that are supposedly on the way in Pokemon Legends: Z-A, marking an unusual first for the series. Even taking into account the rest of the leaked list, Floette is the only middle-stage evolution Pokemon to be given the honor of a Mega Evolution. Even series mascot Pikachu never got a Mega form, seeming to cement the rule that only final-stage creatures are powerful enough to harness the energy required. The important distinction to be made, though, is that Eternal Flower Floette is the only Floette believed to be capable of Mega Evolution. In Pokemon X and Y, it is confirmed that AZ’s partner can’t evolve, just as AZ himself can’t age, so in a way, Eternal Flower Floette is in its final form. It is also believed to be much more powerful than a typical middle-stage Floette because of the energy it received from the ultimate weapon.

The Leaked Mega Evolutions Might Hint at What’s to Come

It’s no great leap of thought to conclude that, because Eternal Flower Floette can Mega Evolve, it will be used in a battle at some point in Pokemon Legends: Z-A. Some players have theorized that AZ might loan the player his powerful partner during the game, but it’s possible players might battle against him instead. Either way, the fact that this particular Pokemon could receive a Mega Evolution can help uncover what might happen in Legends: Z-A’s story. Similarly, some believe that other leaked Mega Pokemon might replace ride Pokemon from Legends: Arceus.

In X and Y, AZ was stated to be the former king of the Kalos region as well as an immortal giant. The new image he seems to have fostered doesn’t fit what most fans remember him as, but perhaps his laid-back hotel life is all a front.

If AZ and his powered-up Floette are brought into battle, it could even be one of the game’s most pivotal moments. This is just one way that Pokemon Legends: Z-A could use X and Y’s untapped potential. The story of AZ and Eternal Flower Floette never received a satisfying conclusion back then, but they have another chance now. Pokemon Legends: Z-A marks a renewed chance for the pair, as well as a possible new appreciation for all 27 of the leaked Mega Pokemon.
