Completing your Pokedex is more important than ever in Pokemon Legends: Z-A, since there are research challenges and other objectives tied to it. Some Pokemon evolutions can only be obtained by trading in Pokemon Legends: Z-A; however, you can use trade codes to make the process easier.

Trade codes can be used when performing a Link Trade in Pokemon Legends: Z-A, letting you trade Pokemon with other players online. The Pokemon Legends: Z-A community has decided on a set list of trade codes dedicated to trade evolutions that anyone can use. If you need someone to trade with, use these Pokemon Legends: Z-A trade codes.

Updated December 12, 2025: The Mega Dimension DLC introduced three new trade evolutions, meaning there are now three new Pokemon Legends: Z-A trade codes for players to keep track of. In addition to these new PLZA trade codes, we've added a section explaining how to find all of the held items that are used in trade evolutions, which should come in handy for those hoping to complete their Lumiose and Hyperspace Pokedexes.

How to Use Trade Codes in Pokemon Legends: Z-A

Link Trade

To use these trade codes, open the menu and select Link Play. Then, choose Link Trade and select Faraway Players. The game will then prompt you to enter a link code. Here, just enter the trade code for the Pokemon you're trying to trade.

If you did everything correctly, you should receive an identical Pokemon from another online player. You'll both end up with the evolved form of the Pokemon. Don't expect to get it back, though. These link codes are just meant to give players an easy way to get trade evolutions, so don't give away a specific Kadabra that you're particularly attached to or anything like that.

Remember that these link codes only work if other players are using them at the same time, so you may not find any trade partners if you're playing Pokemon Legends: Z-A at a slow time when players aren't online. You can always try again later if that's the case. Since these trade codes are being spread online, you're bound to find someone else using them eventually.

These trade codes are incredibly helpful for filling your Pokemon Legends: Z-A Pokedex. Just make sure you have the right items if you're trading a Pokemon like Spritzee or Swirlix; otherwise, the trade won't make them evolve.
