One of the most unique and innovative titles in the Pokemon series in recent years is Pokemon Legends: Arceus and the game continues to offer players reasons to come back to the title even three years after it was released. The semi-open world design of Pokemon Legends: Arceus along with the ability to catch critters in real time made it a memorable experience for many fans. With the Pokemon Legends series set to receive its second entry later this year, there's never been a better time to start a new playthrough of Pokemon Legends: Arceus.

Pokemon Legends: Arceus is unlike any game the franchise has seen so far, and it may take more than one playthrough for players to fully appreciate how it sets itself apart from other games in the series. While the game may not have the cleanest visuals, its stylistic choices help create a unique atmosphere of a bygone world where humans and Pokemon were largely separate. After playing through the modern setting of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, it might be nice for players to take a step back in time to the Hisui Region and relive the adventure that awaits there.

Pokemon fans can earn two rare shinies from Home, but they must complete the toughest challenge of two very different Sinnoh Regions to do so.

Pokemon Legends: Arceus is Worth Restarting in 2025

Players Can Complete Pokemon Legends: Arceus' Pokedex to Receive a Shiny Enamorus in Pokemon Home

It can often be tough for players to restart a Pokemon game since many tend to grow attached to the critters they've captured over the course of their playthroughs. However, tools like Pokemon Home offer a great way to preserve the legacy of the mons players used to complete the game on their first go around. To sweeten the deal, Pokemon Home is now offering a special shiny giveaway for players who complete the Hisui Dex in Pokemon Legends: Arceus.

For players who haven't completed the Hisui Dex, now is the perfect time to jump back into Pokemon Legends: Arceus and potentially even start from scratch on a new save file. Completing the Hisui Dex and logging into Pokemon Home will reward players with a shiny Enamorus, one of the new Legendary Pokemon added in Legends: Arceus, and this is the first time Enamorus' shiny variant has been made available. While it might sound tedious to some to restart the game just to complete the Pokedex, Pokemon Legends: Arceus' action RPG influences make catching creatures in real time one of its most enjoyable aspects.

Replaying Pokemon Legends: Arceus Could Be the Perfect Way to Prepare for Legends: Z-A

Perhaps the biggest reason to revisit the Hisui Region with a new Legends: Arceus playthrough is to prepare for the upcoming release of the game's successor, Pokemon Legends: Z-A. While Legends: Z-A is taking players to the Kalos Region of Gen 6, it could be worth a refresher on the gameplay mechanics and story beats of Pokemon Legends: Arceus to see how they compare to those of Legends: Z-A. It's unclear if Legends: Z-A will be a direct sequel to Legends: Arceus, but it's likely many of the core mechanics will translate to this new title.

Despite having a release window of 2025 confirmed, Pokemon Legends: Z-A has yet to receive an official release date. With Pokemon Day coming later this month and likely to yield new details about the game, players could hear very soon when they can expect to dive into Legends: Z-A for the first time. As such, players may want to wait until then before restarting Pokemon Legends: Arceus in order to get a clearer picture of how much time they have to beat the game and complete the Pokedex before Pokemon Legends: Z-A releases.
