A Pokemon fan artist has shared their idea of what a Leafeon might look like if it were impacted by the changing of the seasons, with this Leafeon displaying an autumn-themed appearance. With Leafeon having a closer connection to plants than the other Eeveelutions, it's a theme that would make sense to include in a Pokemon game.
Every Pokemon has fans, but none of them have captured the imagination of the community quite like Eevee and its evolutionary forms. The potential for Eevee to transform into so many different kinds of creatures by being evolved has led fans to think up new designs, especially since Eevee hasn't gotten a new evolution in several generations of the games. While most fans are busy dreaming up brand-new evolutionary forms, this particular artist imagined what it would be like if Leafeon were to shift in appearance like the trees it takes its name from.
Pokemon Fan Shares Unique Ground-Type Eeveelution
A Pokemon fan invents and designs a unique evolution for Eevee, giving the Pokemon a Ground-type form that would be found in a particular area.
On Reddit, Pokemon fan artist MythRava shared a new illustration of their idea of what an autumn-themed Leafeon might look like. The seasonal version of Leafeon has seen its color shift from green to reddish-brown, with a cream-colored body. Its ears still have the same general shape, but look a little more notched and frayed, like a dried leaf. The long leaf on its head is gone, replaced by a pair of twigs that look like horns, and the Pokemon has gained a prominent layer of autumn leaves around its neck. With all the changes, it's easy to imagine how a green and lush-looking Leafeon might gradually shift to this autumnal version as the seasons transition in the world around it.
Pokemon Seasonal Forms Make Sense
Fans seem to be fond of this piece of artwork, and with good reason. In addition to being a charming piece of art, the concept makes a lot of sense as something that could actually exist in Pokemon. Some real-world creatures see their coloring change when the seasons do, allowing them to more readily blend in with their environment, making it easier to avoid predators as well as making it easier to chase prey. In terms of the Pokemon world, Deerling is a Pokemon that sees its appearance change depending on the season or the weather of the region they're located in. However, Deerling's changes aren't as extreme and unique as this fan's Leafeon concept.
While most fans are fixated on the notion of a new Eevee evolution being added to the series, revitalizing its existing forms could be a way of giving fans more Eevee without having to also invent brand-new typings and movesets. Whether something like that ends up happening in a future game, though, is something only the developers can know for certain.
