Pokemon GO has confirmed that Yamper and its evolution, Boltund, are coming to the game later in June as part of a limited event. The Gen 8 Pokemon are the first of a series of debuts expected in Pokemon GO's latest season.
Earlier in May, Pokemon GO revealed its new Delightful Days season, which officially launched on June 3. The developer teased several Pokemon debuts for the summer-themed cycle, including Hisuian Lilligant and all three forms of Tatsugiri. Another confirmed release was Yamper, the adorable Electric-type dog Pokemon from Galar. Yamper has been one of the most anticipated Gen 8 monsters since Pokemon GO began adding Galarian creatures in 2020. Fortunately for fans, the wait will soon be over as Yamper is making the jump to Pokemon GO soon.
Pokemon GO Will Let Players Pick August Community Day Pokemon
Pokemon GO brings back Community Day voting for its upcoming August 2025 edition, with four Pokemon as candidates for the spotlight.
Pokemon GO has unveiled its upcoming Yamper's Paw Prints event, which will run from June 20 at 12:00 PM to June 22 at 11:59 PM local time. As the title suggests, it will feature the debut of Yamper and its evolution, Boltund. Players can evolve the Electric-type into Boltund using 50 Yamper Candy. The event will also grant players double the Stardust from catching Pokemon and an increased chance of encountering shiny forms of Snubbull, Poochyena, and Furfrou. Additionally, several dog Pokemon will spawn more frequently in the wild, including Growlithe, Houndour, and Fidough. Coincidentally, the event overlaps with Jangmo-o's Community Day on June 21.

With the release of Yamper and Boltund, the list of Galarian Pokemon missing in Pokemon GO steadily shortens. Each day of the event, players will receive special Timed Research tasks that reward 3,000 XP and 1,500 Stardust, as well as encounters with Poochyena, Furfrou, and Snubbull. Fans can also purchase a $1 ticket for event-exclusive Timed Research tasks that grant four Incense, 6,000 Stardust, and encounters with Rockruff, Yamper, and more dog Pokemon.
The Delightful Days season is set to launch some major events, like the global debut of Zacian and Zamazenta's Crowned forms during GO Fest 2025: Global. Pokemon GO has also doubled down on promoting community events by releasing an RSVP feature for Raids and Community Campsites. Considering that Pokemon GO's June Raid schedule is packed, the features could come in handy for players. Pokemon GO's ninth anniversary is fast approaching as well, and fans are hoping that party-hat Pokemon will make a comeback to commemorate the date, since these were teased in the Delightful Days trailer.
