Origin Raid Day is the third part of the Ultra Unlock event in Pokemon GO. The event takes place August 10, 2025 from 11:00am to 5:00pm local. During this time, you'll see Origin Forme Dialga and Origin Forme Palkia in raids. These Sinnoh Legendaries debuted in Pokemon GO back in 2024, so if you missed them during the Sinnoh Tour event, now's your chance to get them. While Ultra Unlock: Origin Raid Day is active, there will be in-game bonuses as well as the Event Ticket available for purchase at the in-game store.

Ultra Unlock: Origin Raid Day Bonuses
Event Bonuses & Ticket
As mentioned, Origin Raid Day will have Event Bonuses that will remain active until the event ends. Because it's a Raid Day, most of these bonuses apply only to Raids and Raid-related items. Here's what to expect:
- 1.5x XP earned from Raid Battles.
- Remote Raid Pass limit will be increased to 20 (August 9, 2:00pm to August 10, 8:00pm PDT)
- If your Trainer Level is 31 or higher, you'll have an increased chance of getting Rare Candy XL from Raid Battles. Note: This only applies to in-person Raids and will not work with Remote Raids.
- Get an additional 5 Raid Passes from spinning Gym Photo Discs, including the Raid Pass you receive daily.
If you want more out of the Raid Day, then you should consider the Event Ticket. This costs 4.99 USD, and the effect of the ticket will last from August 10, 2025 11:00am to 5:00pm local. Here are the bonuses that you'll get with the Event Ticket:
- 3x XP from Raid Battles.
- 2x Stardust from Raid Battles.
- If your Trainer Level is 31 or higher, you'll get one Rare Candy XL for catching either Origin Forme Dialga or Origin Forme Palkia.
- Get 8 Raid Passes in addition to the 5 Raid Passes and the daily Raid Pass.
Again, the Event Ticket will only last until 11am-5pm local on August 10, 2025. Keep this in mind before making your purchase.

Origin Forme Dialga and Origin Forme Palkia Counters
As with any big Raid Boss, you're going to need a group of people when battling Origin Forme Dialga and Origin Forme Palkia. Four people should be enough to take down the Origin Formes, but you might be able to manage with just three people.

Featured Attack: Roar of Time & Spacial Rend
How to Get Dialga/Palkia with Roar of Time/Spacial Rend
If you defeat either Origin Forme in their respective Raid Battles, you'll be given the chance to catch them. If you're really lucky, Origin Forme Dialga/Palkia could even be Shiny. However, another thing you'll want from these Legendaries are their signature Charged Attacks: Roar of Time and Spacial Rend.
These Charged Attacks are not only extremely powerful in battle, but they also have what's called an Adventure Effect. As the name implies, Roar of Time/Spacial Rend can be used outside of battle while you're walking around catching Pokemon. Here are the Adventure Effects for both moves:
- Roar of Time: Requires 5000 Stardust and 5 Dialga Candy to activate its Adventure Effect. Roar of Time will pause the timer on Daily Incense, Incense, Star Pieces, and Lucky Eggs for 6 minutes. This timer can be extended up to two hours at the cost of more Stardust and Dialga Candy.
- Spacial Rend: Requires 5000 Stardust and 5 Palkia Candy to activate its Adventure Effect. Spacial Rend extends the distance of wild Pokemon encounters for 10 minutes. Like Roar of Time, Spacial Rend's timer can be extended up to two hours by using more Stardust and Palkia Candy.
Unfortunately, there's no way to guarantee your Origin Forme Dialga and Origin Forme Palkia will have their signature moves. As of August 4, 2025, it's impossible to teach them Roar of Time/Spacial Rend via (Elite) Charged TM. Whether this will change is unknown.
Which Adventure Effect is Better?
The usefulness of Roar of Time and Spacial Rend's effects will vary on how you play the game.
Roar of Time seems to be more useful if you're trying to farm Stardust and XP. Having a slower timer on the Incense and Daily Incense is also useful. On the downside, you need the appropriate items for Roar of Time's Adventure Effect to be of any use.
Spacial Rend works better if you're trying to catch Pokemon, but are unable to leave your current location/travel long distances. Spacial Rend's Adventure Effect also lasts four minutes longer than Roar of Time. On the downside, Spacial Rend's effect does not extend to increased Stardust or XP from catching Pokemon.
