Pokemon GO has unveiled a new "Ultra Unlock" event set to run in early August, featuring a special Raid Day centered around Origin Forme Dialga and Palkia. The massively popular monster-catching mobile game offers plenty more ways for players to catch Pokemon outside roaming around and finding Pokemon in the wild. Players can find unique Pokemon through Pokemon GO' s Research missions, challenge Raids at different Gyms within the game, and hatch Pokemon from eggs. Now, a new Raid event is gearing up to feature some powerful and unusual Pokemon for players to take on.

Pokemon GO's "Ultra Unlock" events provide players a unique incentive for engaging with the game's special events, granting the ability to unlock greater rewards. 2025's Pokemon GO Fest in late June offered multiple tiers of rewards for clearing the game's Global Challenges, with fans able to unlock different future events. Fans at the 2025 event managed to smash through each tier set by Niantic, with Pokemon GO already running the "Hisui Celebration" and "Steel and Scales" events. Now, the final reward from this year's Pokemon GO Fest will arrive in just a couple of weeks.

Steel and Scales, while not steeped as far into Hisui, also added a trio of new Pokemon to the game, with Honedge and its evolutions making their long-awaited debut.

Pokemon GO fans should have plenty of opportunities to capitalize on the game's newest Raid Day event. The event's raised limit on Raids and bonus Raid Passes will grant even more chances for fans to pick up their favorite of the two Legendaries, potentially even finding a Shiny variant.
