There's no doubt that myriad Pokemon GO fans are currently enjoying all that the new Trainer Battles feature has to offer, but it looks as if Niantic is already turning its attention toward providing even more for players to do in the mobile augmented reality title in the future. As a matter of fact, the video game developer just recently confirmed that the ARG will be hosting another Community Day event next month featuring the Water-type, Totodile.

On Saturday, January 12, 2019, Pokemon GO players will see an increased spawn rate of Totodile from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM EST, with Niantic also increasing the duration of the effects of Lures to three hours instead of the standard one hour. What's more is that the game developer revealed that Eggs will hatch in a quarter of the time that they normally do. Also, if previous Community Day events are any indication in what's to come next month, then Trainers will presumably have a chance at encountering a Shiny Totodile, too.

Additionally, should Pokemon GO players manage to evolve Totodile into its final evolution from Croconaw to Feraligatr up to an hour after Community Day comes to an close, then the Water-type will learn a special event-exclusive move that it wouldn't usually be able to acquire. While Niantic has yet to confirm what move this is going to be, a vast majority of the PoGO fan base is speculating that it will be Hydro Cannon.

All things considered, it's great to see that Niantic will be continuing with Pokemon GO's Community Day events next year, as it should serve as a solid way to get players to continually engage with the mobile ARG. With January 2019's featured creature locked in, it will be interesting to see what the developer has planned for the following month's Community Day event in February 2019. Nevertheless, we will have to wait and find out which Pocket Monster is highlighted then, and simply enjoy the contents of PoGO's winter event in 2018 for the time being.

Pokemon GO is available now for Android and iOS devices.
