Pokemon GO is finally getting Dynamax Pokemon and is using the To The Max Special Research to show us how it works. First seen in Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield, the Dynamax mechanic allows every Pokemon in the entire game to potentially grow to a colossal size, gaining access to brand-new moves to shake up PvP in what is the biggest addition since Routes last year.
As part of the Max Out season, the Pokemon GO To The Max Special Research is only available to claim for three months between September 4, at 10 AM local time, until December 3, at 9:59 AM local time. You only need to log into Pokemon GO between these dates to get this research added to your permanent task list, and it's free for all players. It gives all players access to a Wooloo capable of Dynamaxing, among other useful items. This guide will go through all the tasks and rewards in the To The Max Special Research.

Where To Find Pokemon GO Max Particles
Finding Pokemon GO Max Particles is as simple as locating Power Spots, and they're just like finding Pokestops on your walk. Power Spots act mostly in the same way, too, in that they're inaccessible while moving at a high speed, and you can interact with them only if you're close enough.
However, there are two key differences. The first one is Power Spots are completely separate from ordinary Pokestops. In our experience, their locations seem to be local businesses rather than landmarks.
The second is that once you've interacted with the new Power Spot and taken the 100-120 Max Particles available, you can't use it again until the assigned countdown expires. So, if you want to get enough to Dynamax your Pokemon, you'll need to wait. This can be anywhere from a few hours to a couple of days, depending on the Power Spot's current cycle.
While there is a supposed cap of 800 Max Particles per day you can get, you can go over this value. You can get an additional 300 Max Particles for every 2 kilometers you travel, which you can redeem via the new Power Spot segment in the nearby Pokemon tab on the bottom right of the screen. You can also check this out to see countdowns for all the nearby Power Spots. You can also encounter a Dynamax Pokemon when you reach 1000 Max Particles.
How To Level Up Pokemon GO Dynamax Moves
Once you catch a Dynamax Pokemon, you'll want to learn new moves. Thankfully, it's similar to how you use candy to unlock a new Pokemon GO Charge Move slot. Every Dynamax Pokemon automatically has at least one of their Dynamax moves unlocked. To upgrade each one or unlock the rest, you'll need a set amount of Max Particles and that Pokemon's candy.
Every move can be leveled three times, with the final level also requiring a set amount of that Pokemon's XL candy instead of the regular ones.
Here is a breakdown of all the level costs:

Can Dynamax Pokemon Be Shiny?
According to a post by Amiibofan 101 on Reddit, if you're incredibly lucky, it's possible to catch a Dynamax Wooloo in its shiny form. While it's currently unclear if you'll be able to find all available shiny Pokemon in their Dynamax form, we do at least have confirmation that it's possible for this Special Research Wooloo.
