Participants of the Pokemon GO Taken Treasures 2024 event have a packed Field Research with multiple possible rewards for completing the tasks. The quest offers 5 tasks, including defeating Team GO Rocket Grunts and catching and purifying multiple Shadow Pokemon. Trainers participating in the Taken Treasures event also have several bonuses that might help them complete the Field Research quest. The Team GO Rocket appears in an increased amount at different Pokemon GO PokeStops and Balloons. One must note that the Team GO Rocket Balloons appear every 2 hours during the event's runtime. Players can also use a Charged TM to make their Shadow Pokemon forget the Charged Move Frustration.

In addition to the Field Research quest, players can participate in 5-star Shadow raids. From Saturday, January 27, 2024, at 6 AM to Sunday, January 28, 2024, at 10 PM Local Time, one can battle Shadow Ho-Oh in Pokemon GO 5-star Shadow raids. Those who win against the powerful Shadow raid boss might get an opportunity to encounter a Shiny Shadow Ho-Oh, but the Shiny encounter isn’t guaranteed.
