To note, while players that purchase an Event Ticket need not complete the Sweet Snacks Special Research during the event, it is recommended that they do so. There are two primary reasons for this recommendation, the first of which is that Teddiursa will have an increased spawn rate for the duration of the event, making it much easier to catch the Pokemon in abundance. The second reason is that a full moon will be present for PoGO's Teddiursa Community Day, and that is a requirement for evolving Ursaring.

That means that Pokemon GO players that do not address the Sweet Snacks Special Research during the Community Day, or within the 13 hours that follow it, will be stuck on Step 3 until another full moon appears in-game. Exactly when that will occur is currently unknown, and indeed it may be some time before players have another opportunity to evolve an Ursaring. Furthermore, an Ursaring that is evolved outside the Community Day will not create an Ursaluna that knows the High Horsepower Charged Attack, as that move is attached to the event.

Pokemon GO is available now for iOS and Android mobile devices.
