Even though the vast number of GO Fest and ninth anniversary events have left Pokemon GO, there are still plenty of events players can join in on now and in the near future. Mega Blastoise, Terrakion, and Dynamax Wailmer are about to take over the raids Pokemon GO players can team up for, Feebas Spotlight Hour will help players evolve a few Milotics easier, and the Water Festival brings Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's Tatsugiri into the Pokedex. Players who aren't interested in raids might want to enjoy the quiet before the storm. The end of July will likely keep a number of players busy between the Water Festival, Quaxly Community Day, and the Summer Concert.

The Summer Concert is a brand-new event to Pokemon GO that aims to celebrate the series' music. Starting on July 19, players can log in and enjoy a special arrangement of Pokemon songs on the app every night from 5 PM to 8 PM in their respective time zone. The other typical bonuses for these events will be active as well, like hour-long lures and special lure critters to catch, field research tasks, and more. Jigglypuff, Lotad, Kricketot, Audino, Noibat, and Poplio will have better chances of appearing in the wild as well. Out of all of these fun features, however, players might want to join in the festivities for one specific Pokemon. The Music Note Pokemon Chatot will be available globally instead of regionally.

Players Should Take the Chance to Grab Chatot in Pokemon GO While They Can

Regional Pokemon Being Made Globally Available is a Rare Window of Opportunity in Pokemon GO

The literal name of Pokemon GO's game is to make players feel like they're living in a Pokemon world, so the concept of having creatures in specific locations makes sense. The downside is that Pokedex completionists will likely have to travel internationally once or twice to catch critters like Volbeat or Pachirisu. Due to how regional Pokemon demand a lot from players conceptually, some events like Rivals Week 2024 make these critters available worldwide for a limited time. Unless players know a specific Pokemon is regional, though, there's a chance they might let the event pass them by.

Chatot is one of the critters that may surprise players with its regional status in the mobile game. Chatot is very easy to find in many of the other games it appears in, yet the parrot-like Pokemon is normally found exclusively in the Southern Hemisphere in Pokemon GO. Considering the Music Note Pokemon is part of a singular evolutionary line and caps out at 1,535 CP, it isn't one of the most powerful or useful critters out there. If fans like Chatot, they can use it in their own time with Pokemon GO's more casual features and modes, while others might just catch it for the Pokedex.

This particular regional critter has only been made available worldwide one other time, and that was during the global GO Tour Sinnoh event last year. Chatot's Shiny form is in the game as well, and the Summer Concert event aims to make it easier to find while lures are active. There's no telling when this particular Pokemon will be so easily accessible to players again, so fans should definitely take advantage while they can.

At the end of the day, Pokemon GO's approach to making regional creatures available as part of their limited-time events is great for those who can't travel regularly. The set-up isn't perfect, and much of Pokemon GO's structure has been open to criticism for years already, but it's better than leaving players with no choice but to spend money traveling just to catch a few fictional critters around the world. If one quality-of-life change could be made with these Pokemon GO events, then the information surrounding it should be more transparent when a regional creature is being featured for a limited time, especially on a worldwide scale. For now, it's up to players to keep an eye on these special opportunities, and that might lead to some missed chances and a lot of waiting for another event to come around.
