Pokemon GO is known for having many events that take place each month, some even taking place weekly. These are events like the Max Monday events, and also the Spotlight Hours, which happen every Tuesday. These events are perfect for allowing players to gain more rewards weekly to then be prepared for bigger events like Timed Researches or Raids.

Spotlight Hour Slugma & Bergmite Guide
For this week's Spotlight Hour, both Slugma and Bergmite will be showcased for the week. On Tuesday, December 17th, 2024, between 6 PM and 7 PM local time, these two Pokemon will be able to catch much more easily as their spawn rate will be increased. To prepare for the Spotlight Hour, players should stock up on Pokeballs, Berries, and Incense, and also make space within their Pokemon Storage because there are great bonuses this week. With having two Pokemon this week, there is also a chance to catch a shiny of both of these Pokemon. Players will also be able to get a bonus of double candies when catching these Pokemon, which can help players quickly make them more powerful by powering them up.
Catching Slugma
Slugma is number #0218 within the Pokedex and comes from the Johto Generation 2. Slugma is also classified as a Fire-type Pokemon and can be traded within Pokemon GO and transferred to Pokemon home. This Pokemon can be evolved by using 50 candies to Magcargo, players will also be given 3-Slugma candies and 300 Stardust. With Slugma being a Fire-type Pokemon it is weak against Ground-type, Rock-type, and Water-type Pokemon (160% damage). Slugma has reduced damage to Bug-type, Fairy-type, Fire-type, Grass-type, Ice-type, and Steel-type (63% damage).
Slugma also has a max of 1011 Combat Power (CP) with 118 Attack and 71 Defense. The best movesets for Slugma are Rock Throw (Normal Attack) and Flame Charge (Fire attack). These attacks give 4.27 Damage Per Second (DPS) and 20.37 Total Damage Output (TDO). Slugma can deal more damage if the player is in Partly Cloudly or Sunny Weather. There is a shiny version available for this Pokemon where, instead of Slugma’s body being red, it is silver, leaving all other features like the original version.
Catching Bergmite
Bergmite is number #0712 within the Pokedex and comes from the Kalos Generation 6. Bergmite can be traded within Pokemon GO and sent to the Pokemon Home via transfer. When the player catches this Pokemon they will be rewarded with 3 candies and 300 Stardust. Bergmite can be evolved for 50 candies into Avalugg. This Pokemon is also classified as an Ice-type Pokemon, because of this, Bergmite is weak against Fighting-type, Rock-type, Fire-type, and Steel-type (160% damage). While taking more damage from those types of Pokemon it takes reduced damage from Ice-type Pokemon (63% damage). Bergmite has a max 1347 Combat Power (CP), 117 Attack, and 120 defense.
The best moves for Bergmite are Bite (Normal Attack) and Icy Wind (Ice-Attack) for 5.83 Damage Per Second (DPS) and 52.08 Total Damage Output (TDO). A boost to these attacks can be done when the player is in Fog or Snow weather. There is a shiny to this Pokemon, players will know because Bergmite’s feet and underbelly will turn yellow. Everything else on this Pokemon will look the same as its normal version would.
