Pokemon GO has officially launched its Sinnoh Celebration event, giving players a great opportunity to fully complete their Sinnoh region Pokedex. Any Pokemon GO players that want to participate in the Sinnoh Celebration will need to be sure to play between now and when the event ends on Monday, February 10 at 10:00pm local time.
The Pokemon GO Sinnoh Celebration should be an exciting even for fans of the augmented reality game. Sinnoh region Pokemon will spawn more in the wild, plus 7km eggs will exclusively hatch the following Sinnoh region Pokemon: Bronzor, Budew, Combee, Gible, Hippopotas, Mantyke, and Riolu. Players will also be able to encounter some Sinnoh region Pokemon in raids, giving fans numerous ways to add Sinnoh Pokemon to their Pokemon GO collection.
Players can also complete Sinnoh region Field Research tasks that will be available from PokeStops while the event is live. These research tasks will be yet another way to catch Sinnoh region Pokemon during the event, but they will also give players the chance to get Sinnoh Stones. Sinnoh Stones are hugely important in Pokemon GO, as there are the only way players will be able to get some of the Sinnoh region Pokemon.
Like with many Pokemon GO events, the Sinnoh Celebration also features new shiny Pokemon for fans to collect. More specifically, players have the chance to add Shiny Hippopotas and Shiny Riolu to their collections. These shiny Pokemon will technically still be available in Pokemon GO after the event ends, but the Sinnoh Celebration will be the easiest time for players to get these Pokemon.
This isn't the first time that Pokemon GO has held an event honoring a specific region from the Pokemon franchise. As some may recall, Niantic hosted a Kanto-themed event in 2018 that went a long way in helping Pokemon GO players fully complete their Gen 1 Pokedex. Moving forward, it's likely that Niantic will continue to host region-specific events as a way to help Pokemon GO players complete their Pokedex.
The Sinnoh region isn't the only thing be celebrated by a Pokemon GO in-game event this month. The game is also celebrating Valentine's Day by having Woobat as the Field Research Breakthrough reward, so fans should keep that in mind as well.
Pokemon GO is out now for iOS and Android mobile devices.
