Pokemon GO has announced the June GO Pass and its rewards, which include an encounter with Articuno. That is yet another edition of the GO Pass released by Pokemon GO, offering players a new type of free battle pass.

Articuno is one of the most famous Gen 1 Pokemon. Part of the legendary trio that includes Zapdos and Moltres, the Kanto birds were added in 2017 at Pokemon GO Fest. Shiny Articuno debuted in Pokemon GO in 2018, while the shadow form of the pocket monster was added in 2019. Shiny Shadow Articuno debuted in 2023, and regular and shiny Dynamax Articuno debuted in 2025 at the Legendary Flight event. To help trainers get this iconic critter on their teams, Pokemon GO has revealed what to expect from the new GO Pass.

Niantic has revealed a new GO Pass, which will be available from Tuesday, June 3, at 10 am to Tuesday, July 1, at 10 am local time. On June 3, Pokemon GO players will automatically get the free pass and will need to collect GO Points to level it up and unlock rewards. The main benefit of this month's pass is the encounter with Articuno with a themed background from the upcoming Pokemon GO season. Leveling up the pass will also give players Stardust, XP, Max Particles, Poke Balls, Candy, and more. To help with GO Pass progress, from Saturday, June 28, at 12 am to Sunday, June 29, at 11:59 am local time, there will be no limit to how many points players can earn.

While players will receive the pass for free automatically, it is possible to enhance the experience by purchasing the GO Pass Deluxe from the Pokemon GO Webstore. In addition to the free rewards, this version of the pass offers other goodies, such as a Super Incubator, Premium Battle Passes, Incense, a Lucky Egg, and a Lucky Trinket. The latter item is worth noting, as it turns a friend from the player's list into a Lucky Friend, making the next trade Lucky Pokemon for both trainers. After the trade, the Lucky Friend status will be reset.

Like the GO Passes that Pokemon GO has released before, players can unlock bonuses reaching levels 25, 50, and 75. For those who want even more, the Pokemon GO Web Store will sell the Deluxe version of the GO Pass + 10 unlocked levels. Trainers who purchase this combo will receive 10 Ultra Balls, five Max Revives, one Premium Battle Pass, and five Max Potions as a gift.
