Pokemon GO: Poliwag Community Day Guide | Research Tasks, Bonuses, Shiny Poliwag, & More

Pokemon GO Community Day is a monthly event recurring with a particular Pokemon as a highlight. The featured Pokemon will spawn at a higher rate during the event and will come with a special move if evolved while the event is live. There are also multiple other elements to the Community Day: Research Tasks, bonuses, rewards, and much more.

The Pokemon GO Poliwag Community Day starts Saturday, July 30, at 2:00 p.m. Local Time and ends July 30 at 5:00 p.m. Local Time. During the event or within five hours afterward, evolving Poliwhirl with a King’s Rock results in a Politoed with the Charge Attack Ice Beam. They can also evolve Poliwhirl to Poliwrath to get a Poliwrath that knows the Fast Attack Counter. Trainers can also get the entire Shiny Poliwag Family since they are already available.

Pokemon GO Slippery Swirls: Special Research Tasks and Rewards

Slippery Swirls, an exclusive Community Day Research Story, is available for US$1.00 or equivalent local currency. Players can purchase and gift tickets to their Pokemon GO Friends with a Friendship level of Great Friends or higher. To gift a ticket, navigate to the Special Research ticket in the shop and select the Gift button.

Tickets are non-refundable except as allowed by applicable law and the exceptions in the Terms of Service. This Special Research won’t include an in-game medal, and gifting is impossible if the recipient has already purchased a Special Research ticket or has been gifted one.

Pokemon GO Poliwag Community Day: Event-exclusive Timed Research Tasks and Rewards

This Community Day has an Event-exclusive Timed Research quest with various rewards for participants. During the Poliwag Community Day, catching Poliwag can earn players rewards with multiple King’s Rock.

Pokemon GO Poliwag Community Day: Poliwhirl 4-Star Raid

Even after the Community Day ends, players have another three-hour window to participate in Poliwhirl 4-Star Raid Battles. Those who emerge victorious will encounter Poliwag around the Raid area for half an hour. One needs Raid Passes or Premium Battle Passes to participate, but the Pokemon GO Remote Raid Passes won’t work. After completing the Poliwhirl Raid Battle, players may encounter Poliwag in a 300-meter radius around the Gym area for 30 minutes. Lucky trainers also have a chance to encounter a Shiny Poliwag.

Pokemon GO Poliwag Community Day: All Bonuses

There are numerous bonuses proposed for the Pokemon GO Community Day. While most bonuses are active only in the three hours run-time of the event, this event’s bonus will be active from 2:00 p.m. To 10:00 p.m. Local Time.

Apart from these bonuses, one can also acquire event-themed stickers by spinning PokeStops, purchasing them from the Pokemon GO store, and opening gifts.
