A Pokemon GO player has shared their frustration with the community, highlighting the aggravating wait time involved in completing Might and Mastery’s Special Research Tasks. These Pokemon GO challenges involve completing five parts, which include objectives like Defeat 3 Team GO Rocket members or Power up Pokemon 10 times, and also include interactions with Professor Willow.

Pokemon GO is an augmented reality mobile game available on iOS and Android, which was first released back in 2016. The app is free to play and involves players going outside to explore their real-life locations to encounter, catch, battle, and train Pokemon. Pokemon GO was recently sold to Scopely, the developer behind Monopoly GO, and fans were understandably concerned by the change of hands after Niantic’s nine years of service.

Pokemon GO Players Point Out Big Missed Opportunity With Deep Depths Event

Pokemon GO players point out how a certain hard-to-catch Gen 3 Pokemon could have fitted well in the game's latest limited event.

Posted on Reddit by dearmratheist, a screenshot was shared on the Pokemon GO subreddit showing three out of five tasks completed under the current season. Pokemon GO Might and Mastery has a decent number of Special Research Tasks on offer, but the player asked the community if they were the only ones who hated the wait time inbetween. Instead of showing what the next tasks were, the dialogue stated, “Professor Willow is currently performing an investigation regarding this research. Check back soon.” The player explained they would rather indulge in a task that takes several days to complete instead of being told to check back later. The poster expressed that this method makes players feel like the developer isn’t sure which research objectives will come next, and that they’re making it up as they go along.

Pokemon GO Players Complain About Special Research Tasks' Wait Time

Pokemon GO’s Might and Mastery may have welcomed exciting new Dynamax Legendaries to gameplay, but the carping for unfinished tasks continued in the comments section. One Redditor noted their OCD wanted all tasks completed and some did agree the waiting time was annoying. However, others stated the gripe didn’t bother them, and explained Niantic was likely drip-feeding content in a storytelling manner to keep players coming back on multiple days. More defenders pointed out the research was also free, which is a bonus.

Pokemon GO’s 18th season Might and Mastery began on March 4 and will run until June 3, which adds new perks and featured Pokemon to gameplay. Some of this season’s features include increased Stardust for the first catch of the day and guaranteed Rare Candy XL for catching a five-star Raid Boss during a Raid Hour. Additionally, some of this season’s featured Pokemon include Regice as a Raid Boss, Growlithe from the southern hemisphere, and Electrike from cities.
