A man threatened to shoot a Pokemon GO player and created a scary situation. Pokemon GO takes players into the real world to find pocket monsters. Because of this, it's not uncommon for the Pokemon GO community to have many unusual, funny, or dangerous stories to tell.

Back in 2016, Pokemon GO's launch excited everyone by making the dream of becoming a Pokemon trainer a reality. But the arrival of the game has also brought problems. One recurring case is car accidents involving people playing Pokemon GO, even though the developer warns against it. When this happens, the game sends warnings to ensure the player is a passenger, not a driver. The Pokemon GO FAQ advises players to have fun, but always pay attention to obstacles, traffic, other pedestrians, and inappropriate areas. Although they weren't doing anything wrong, one trainer shared the story of a big scare they experienced while playing Pokemon GO.

Pokemon GO Player Defeats One of the Hardest Leaders With Just One Pokemon

A clever Pokemon GO player beats one of the hardest Leaders using just one Pokemon, and shows how other trainers can do the same.

Pokemon GO Player Threatened by Armed Man

Reddit user The_big_strombilo said they were threatened by a man with a firearm while playing Pokemon GO. On the game's subreddit they report that they were parked in a church while battling a Gengar in a Raid. A man parked near the Pokemon GO player and said he didn't recognize them. He then warned that he was armed and threatened to shoot if the player didn't leave the property. Even though they were scared, the player realized the man wasn't a security guard or officer. They said they were playing Pokemon GO, but the man said he didn't care. In order not to aggravate the situation, the player left the parking lot, but the police later found the man responsible for the threat.

Other Redditors showed great relief in reading that despite the frightening situation The_big_strombilo had been through, the player hadn't suffered any harm. Some told their stories like a trainer approached by the police not long after Pokemon GO's launch. They say they were out on a Friday night looking for a Snorlax because at the time Snorlax were rare to find. After showing the screen of their phone, the player says that the officer left "with a mixture of pity and annoyance." This player and The_big_strombilo had a tense time without any further problems, but other Pokemon GO trainers haven't been as lucky, with some suffering robberies while having fun.

Pokemon GO allows players to catch and battle Pokemon in the real world. But all trainers need to be aware of their surroundings, a point emphasized by Niantic since Pokemon GO's launch. Pokemon GO players can't always avoid certain situations like the one The_big_strombilo experienced. Even so, playing with caution is essential so that the trainer doesn't put themselves at risk, and can continue to enjoy Pokemon GO.
