Pokemon GO’s March Community Day is just about two weeks away, which means players have Treecko and its evolutions on the brain. The weekend of March 23 Pokemon GO players will have three hours to catch as many of the Gen 3 Grass-type creature as possible and expand their collection with shiny spawns, evolutions, and hopefully a few more surprises.

The basic idea of Community Day is pretty simple: Go out and catch a ton of pokemon for three hours, but this time around things are different. For players who need a little more direction than that, we’ve put together a comprehensive guide full of all the intel you need to prepare for the big day.

1/4 Hatch Distance

3 Hour Lures

Limited Time Field Research

Recent updates to the game’s code suggest that this Community Day, like last month’s, will temporarily offer special Field Research tasks that put an emphasis on the featured Pokemon. Be sure to claim your rewards and clear out a space for these quests if you want to see them.

Shiny Variant

Niantic usually doesn’t confirm the shiny chance until after the event has started, but keep an eye out for shiny Treecko while hunting. They’ve been a part of every other Community Day event, so we fully expect to see them on Saturday the 23rd.

That’s everything we know at this point! Check back for more Pokemon GO updates closer to the event. Until then, good luck out there, trainers!

Pokemon GO is available now in select regions on Android and iOS devices.
