Pokemon GO's Luminous Legends X event is now underway, and it adds a number of Dragon and Fairy-type Pokemon from the Kalos region to the game. These new additions include Spritzee, Swirlix, and Goomy, and it is even possible to now encounter the Legendary Xerneas in raid battles. Additionally, there is some exclusive Field Research to complete during the event, and this guide has full details on those tasks and their associated rewards.

Before outlining those tasks and rewards, though, it is worth mentioning that the Luminous Legends X event in Pokemon GO  is set to conclude on May 17. While this is a fairly sizable window within which to engage with the event's offerings, players should still make sure to carve out some time for tackling its Timed Research and enjoying the increased spawn rates for various Dragon and Fairy-type Pokemon.

Pokemon GO: Luminous Legends X Field Research Tasks and Rewards

  • Catch 5 Fairy-Type Pokemon (Marill or Cottonee Encounter)
  • Catch 10 Dragon-type Pokemon (Gible Encounter)
  • Catch 10 Fairy-type Pokemon (Spritzee or Swirlix Encounter)
  • Use 7 Berries to help catch Pokemon (Spritzee or Swirlix Encounter)
  • Win 2 Raids (Gible Encounter)

As previously indicated, there are several Fairy- and Dragon-type Pokemon that are spawning more often during Luminous Legends X, and that should make completing the majority of these Field Research tasks quite easy. More specifically, fans should encounter the likes of Dratini, Snubbull, and Bagon at a higher frequency, and the aforementioned new Kalos-region Pokemon also have inflated spawn rates for the time being.

To note, another event will begin the day after Luminous Legends X concludes, and it is titled Luminous Legends Y. As its name suggests, this second event serves as a compliment to the one that is currently underway, and it puts its focus on Dark-Type Pokemon from Gen 6. While there is not a great deal of confirmed information about Luminous Legends Y at the time of writing, it is known that the Legendary Yveltal will make its debut in raids during the event.

It is also indicated that there will be an increase in Team GO Rocket activity, and it thus stands to reason that some of Luminous Legends Y's research tasks will center around defeating those foes. Players that wish to prepare for that possibility can do so now by amassing Pokemon that serve as good counters to the Team GO Rocket leaders' lineups, though that is not extremely urgent as the event is two weeks away.

Pokemon GO is out now for iOS and Android mobile devices.
