A new leak reveals Pokemon GO developer Niantic is planning to change the way players share items, further encouraging communication and teamwork within the game. This update seeks to fundamentally change how players acquire special boosts and items, with Pokemon GO focusing heavily on its party system.
Pokemon fans have had a plethora of content to explore and enjoy, thanks to Pokemon GO's consistent updates and continued support. Pokemon GO took over the world upon release, challenging players to find, catch, and collect hundreds of Pokemon in the real world. The game plays unique to any other entry in the series, with Pokemon GO tasking players with stepping outside and searching real-world locations for rare Pokemon. However, as is the case with the decades-old franchise, Pokemon GO features a wide range of Pokemon to capture, some of which are harder to find than others. While Pokemon GO is fun to play solo, a new report claims Niantic is working on upgrading the social aspect of the game in a yet-to-be-announced update.
According to Eurogamer, some exciting information has been uncovered by dataminers, revealing a new feature that will allow Pokemon GO players to share the effects of various items. These Pokemon GO items include Incenses and Star Pieces as well as Lucky Eggs. While the feature is still being worked on, this new report indicates Pokemon GO players will eventually be able to share a double XP boost with other players as well, as long as they are in the same party. Not only does this encourage teamwork, but it also saves players from spending precious resources on items they can get by sharing.
Leak Reveals New Pokemon GO Features
Pokemon GO players are used to consistent support and updates from Niantic, with several game-changing features being added since its release back in 2016. Pokemon GO's buddy system was added after the fact, quickly becoming one of the more popular features found in the game. Pokemon GO's party system launched last year, allowing up to four total players to join together in the search for bigger and better pocket monsters. Aside from being able to see other players on the map, being in a party also provides a boost to players' attack power.
Recent Pokemon GO updates have caused a variety of visual bugs and glitches in the game, some of which have been quite humorous. Niantic rolled out a Pokemon GO update earlier this year that caused problems within the game's buddy system, leaving some players confused. Other visual bugs in Pokemon GO include wild Pokemon appearing where they were not supposed to, with several players spotting a wild Zamazenta in their photos despite not being in their current collection.
