Pokemon GO is at it again, with a new season full of cool events, and opening with the Kanto Celebration that brings lots of the coolest Pokemon from the first generation, as featured Wild Spawns and Raids. There are many interesting Bonuses, Mega Evolution Raids, and unique Pokemon from all the regions in the world available during the event.

Pokemon GO Kanto Celebration Bonuses & Schedule

The Pokemon GO Kanto Celebration event will last from September 2, 2025, at 10 AM Local Time, to September 7, 2025 at 8 PM Local Time. Players will be able to enjoy the following bonuses during the event:

Guaranteed Candy XL for evolving Pokemon
3x Mega Evolution Timer Duration
Double XP for spinning PokeStops
Special encounters with Charmander, Squirtle, and Bulbasaur while taking Snapshots

The Bonuses from the XP Celebration event will remain active during this period, granting players double XP for Good, Great, and Excellent Throws, and +3000 extra XP for winning Raids and Max Battles.

During the event, there will be Active Raids featuring Pokemon that only appear in certain regions. Trainers will be able to face and catch Mega Kangaskhan, Mr. Mime, and also the trio of Starters, including Mega Charizard X and Y.

As Pokemon GO players enjoy this Kanto Celebration Event, they will be able to encounter some of the featured species from Generation 1 games, such as the three starters (Charmander, Bulbasaur, Squirtle), and by evolving them into their final forms, they will be able to learn special Featured Attacks:

Evolve Charmeleon to obtain a Charizard that knows the Charged Move Blast Burn
Evolve Wartortle to obtain a Blastoise that knows the Charged Move Hydro Cannon
Evolve Ivysaur to obtain a Venusaur that knows the Charged Move Frenzy Plant

Additionally, players will be able to encounter the following Pokemon in the wild:

Ghastly
Slowpoke
Chansey
Magikarp
Snorlax

All of these species can be found as Shiny. However, the probabilities of finding Shiny Pokemon are not enhanced during the event.

Kanto Celebration Daily Timed Research

The Pokemon GO Kanto Celebration Timed Research will be divided into four stages. The first, called Near and Farfetch'd will be a vailable from September 2, 2025 at 10 AM Local Time to September 3, 2025 at 10 AM Local Time. To complete it, players will need to clear out the following tasks:
