Niantic has announced that Axew will be the Pokemon featured on Pokemon GO's June Community Day, making the event extra special for players. Pokemon GO enters a new month full of features to entertain the community, including one of its recurring events.
In addition to being a new month, June marks the beginning of a new Pokemon GO season. Named Hidden Gems, Season 11 of Niantic's game brought a new season of the GO Battle League, with rewards and events focused on Pokemon GO's PvP. Players will also see a new Research Day with the possibility of getting Gimmighoul Coins and finding some Pokemon like Sableye and Nosepass. Other news also includes the Water Festival: Beach Week event, which marks the debut of Sandyghast and Palossand in Pokemon GO.
Pokemon GO's June Community Day has been announced, which will take place on June 10 from 2 PM to 5 PM local time. The event will feature the Dragon-type Axew, giving players the chance to catch one of Pokemon GO's rarest non-legendary and non-mythical Pokemon. Players who evolve Fraxure into Haroxus, the best Dragon-type Pokemon of its generation, during the event or up to five hours afterward will get a Haroxus that knows Charged Attack Breaking Swipe.
When does Pokemon GO's June Community Day take place?
- Saturday, June 10, from 2 PM to 5 PM local time
June's Community Day will have the usual bonuses like 3x XP and 2x Stardust when catching Pokemon, and 50% less Stardust needed to make Trades. For just $1 or the local currency equivalent, players can purchase the ticket that gives access to the Special Research story "Keeping Sharp." Pokemon GO players will be able to battle in 4-star raids on June 10 from 5 PM to 10 PM local time with Fraxure, Axew's evolution. Completing a raid battle will make additional Axew appear around the gym that hosted the raid for the next 30 minutes, making the event perfect for fans of this powerful pure Dragon-type Pokemon evolutionary line.
The new Hidden Gems season is the opportunity for Pokemon GO to turn the page after experiencing months of controversy. The nerf of remote passes generated great commotion, but Niantic stands by its decision to have made one of the most debated adjustments among Pokemon GO players. A new Community Day dedicated to one of the rarest Pokemon in the game will not make the issues and controversies go away, but it's an attempt to focus the community's attention on more positive reasons.
Pokemon GO is available now on Android and iOS.
