Regice is making its way back to raids in Pokemon GO and fans are quite curious to learn what are the best combinations they can use to make the most of the Pokemon. For players who are wondering whether Regice can be shiny in the game or not, the good news is that the shiny variant of the Pokemon does exist in the game.

That being said, Regice has been one of the most controversial shinies in the game because of how difficult it is to distinguish between the shiny and regular variants. The shiny version features just a few shades of darker blue, making it exceedingly difficult for players to recognize it. Thankfully, players can check the shiny symbol behind the Pokemon's CP to know if it's shiny or not.

How To Get Shiny Regice in Pokemon GO

The shiny rates are one of the major driving factors behind shiny hunting, and thankfully, the odds are in the favor of fans this time around. Unlike regular Pokemon which have a really harsh 1/64 shiny rate, Regice has a 1/20 chance of being shiny, considering that it is legendary. However, since this resets every raid, it doesn't mean that every 20th Regice players encounter will be shiny. That being said, usually a shiny can be encountered in 30 to 40 encounters. But if players are lucky, their first encounter might be shiny as well. The trick is to take part in as many raids as possible and rely on taking it on with teams so that players can take part in as many battles as possible.

Best Moveset For Regice

Considering that Regice is a pure Ice-type Pokemon, players would think that the best option is to rely on Ice-type moves to take advantage of the same type attack bonus. However, things aren't that straightforward for Regice, as there is a better strategy players can use. Here are the moves they should select for Regice.

  • Lock-On - While this Normal-type move might sound like a pretty weird choice for Regice, it is actually the best move players can use. The reason for that is quite simple. Regice is one of the very few Pokemon that can use Lock-On, and it generates massive amounts of energy which can be used for Charged Attacks. Precisely, it generates a whopping 20 Energy per second, which is the highest in the game by far. This means that players can use Charged Moves much faster. As far as the damage is concerned, it merely does 3.33 damage per second, which is extremely low, but that's not the point of using this attack, after all.
  • Blizzard - This is where all the energy accumulated with Lock-On shines, as players get to use a powerful Charged attack with a massive DPS of 41.94 every now and then. It costs 100 energy and is strong against Flying, Ground, Dragon, and Grass types. This means that players can use this attack every 5 seconds, which can be quite an asset in their arsenal.
