How to Get Palkia and Dialga's Origin Formes in Pokemon GO
in Pokemon GO, Palkia and DIalga's Origin Formes will be available for the first as part of the Pokemon GO Tour: Sinnoh live event, which takes place at Rose Bowl Stadium in Los Angeles, California. The even will occur between Feburary 17-18, 2023, and run during 9AM-5PM. It is mentioned that these Pokemon will appear as part of events named space-time anomalies, meaning they may very well return in the future, but until further notice, they will only be obtainable during Pokemon GO Tour: Sinnoh. During this live event and in the possible future, both DIalga and Palkia's Origin Formes will be available to be encountered in-game as Five-star Raids. Unfortunately, it seems that Origin Forme Palkia and Dialga are restricted to participants of the GO Tour: Sinnoh event, which is an in-person event that requires ticket purchase.
Tickets for the Pokemon GO Tour: Sinnoh event can be purchased from the official Pokemon GO website, starting at $30 USD each. In addition to the base price of this ticket, players can also purchase differehnt ticket add-ons to provide themselves with various perks and benefits to make their event experiences even more worthwhile. These add ons are as follows:
Raid Lover add-on - $15 USD
- Additional 5,000 XP from completed raids
- Up to 18 free Raid Passes by spinning Photo Discs at Gyms
- 6 additional Candy awarded for catching Pokemon in five-star raids
- 3 additional Candy XL awarded for catching Pokemon in five-star raids (Trainers 31+)
Egg-thusiast add-on - $15 USD
- 3× Hatch XP
- 3× Hatch Candy
- 3× Hatch Stardust
- 1/4 Egg Hatch Distance
- 1/4 Egg Hatch Distance does not stack with other similar bonuses
- Increased chance of 10 km Eggs from spinning PokeStops and Photo Discs at Gyms
During Pokemon GO Tour: Sinnoh, players will have the opportunity to choose between two different versions of the event. This appears to affect your chances of obtaining these Pokemon, with your encounters being restricted to one Legendary or the other, depending on the selection you make. Trainers who select the Diamond version of the event will encounter an Origin Forme Dialga that knows Roar of Time, while Trainer who decided to opt in for the Pearl version of the event will encounter an Origin Forme Palkia who knows Spacial Rend.
For the first time in Pokemon GO, these attacks will have special bonus effects that can be used outside of battle. These are known as Adventure Effects, which will offer a series of perks and short-time benefits for you gameplay, at the cost of some Candy and Stardust. For Origin Forme Dialga, Trainers can spend 5,000 Stardust and 5 Dialga Candy to activate the Roar of Time Adventure Effect and receive a series of bonuses in their game:
- Distort time for 6 minutes, pausing the timer of the following items: Incense, Daily Adventure Incense, Lucky Eggs, and Star Pieces.
- This timer can be extended in increments of 6 minutes with use of additional Stardust and Dialga Candy. The timer can be extended up to two hours each time you tap Use, and you can tap Use again to add additional time up to a total of 24 hours.
- Once Roar of Time ends, the timer on any active items will continue to count down.
- Roar of Time cannot be active at the same time as any other Adventure Effect.
For Origin Forme Palkia, Trainers can spend 5,000 Stardust and 5 Palkia Candy to activate the Spacial Rend Adventure Effect and receive a series of bonuses in their game:
- Enables encounters with wild Pokemon to occur at an increased distance.
- This timer can be extended in increments of 10 minutes with use of additional Stardust and Dialga Candy. The timer can be extended up to two hours each time you tap Use, and you can tap Use again to add additional time up to a total of 24 hours.
- Once Spacial Rend ends, Trainers will only encounter wild Pokemon within normal distance limits.
- Spacial Rend cannot be active at the same time as any other Adventure Effect.

Can Origin Forme Palkia and Dialga Be Shiny in Pokemon GO?
With the addition of both Origin Forme Palkia and Dialga during the Pokemon GO Tour: Sinnoh event, you may be wondering if there is also a chance for these Legendary Pokemon to appear in their shiny variants. As confirmed by the official news post on the Pokemon GO website, both Palkia and Dialga will have the possibility of appearing as shiny during the entirety of the Pokemon Go Tour: Sinnoh event.
Of course, while there is a definite possibility of a shiny Origin Dialga or Palkia appearing, this will be no common occurrence for all players. The average shiny rate for a standard Pokemon during a normal day in Pokemon GO was estimated to be one in five hundred, as per data collection and study performed by The Silph Road, prior to the ending of their partnership with Niantic. However, luck will be on your side this time around, as Five-star Raids have an improved one in twenty chance, and Five-Star Raid events can have even further improved rates, at one in ten.
As Dialga and Palkia's Origin Formes are both obtainable via Five-star Raids, there will very likely be some sort of increased rates for stumbling upon the shiny variants of these Pokemon. On top of this, since the Pokemon GO Tour: Sinnoh is a special event, these odds are likely to be the best possible at one in ten encounters. However, from the wording of the news post on the official Pokemon GO website, it seems players may only get to experience one Five-star Raid encounter for these Legendaries, meaning they may not be able to complete these encounters in repetition for better chances at securing a shiny. Because of this, it seems it will be left up to pure luck for Trainers to encounter one of these sparkly beasts of space and time.
